@Rich_Hammond: The Kings can't call up a replacement if Regehr can't play. They're $160.00 short of having enough cap room. Seriously.

Had a big LOL moment today at the mall. Some guy is walking toward me and we have eye contact. I noticed he had a Canucks Daniel Sedin player shirt on. He then puts this serious look on his face and I shoot him a really nasty look with the "What's Up Dude?!?" nod up motion. He looks down at his feet and passes me. I walk for a while and then realize I had a Kings hat and the 2012 Stanley Cup locker room shirt on. Felt good man.
The top guys on this team need to shoot the puck more. I can't understand why this teams power play is still so bad. It's been 4 or 5 years, and it hasn't gotten any better. If they could finally fix it, this team could get home ice in the playoffs. And Doughty would have a better chance to win the Norris trophy.
Gotta think outside the box here - 3 forwards, 1 defenseman and 1Rover. The dreaded 3-1-1 trap. Just drop that in periodically during the game, see how the opposition deals with it. Then, on The PP, only 1 DMan. Gotta drop the minutes DD is getting. 30+ is too many.

According to Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations and Legal Affairs Jeff Solomon, the Kings will be $160 short of the necessary cap space to be able to recall a player with a league-minimum salary. Had the game against Vancouver taken place on Sunday, the Kings would have had enough cap space to recall a player, as a team’s cap space grows daily.
“The old term about being a day late and a dollar short is almost accurate to the penny,” Solomon said.
and this from LA Kings Insider article today:
The hockey gods are just laughing their butts off somewhere south of My Olympus in a wine grove.
Doughty is a big reason the PP sucks, he has. No idea what a wrist shot is.
