They traded 2 mid 1sts for that 2nd pair, Axel Sandin Pellikka and we’ll see
Oh ya the first was for dumping Vinny only right exactly uh huhLmao when they signed that awful VD contract. Lmao spending a first to dump it half a season later.
Miller, VD, Heinen, Brannstrom, Fernstrom, Dorrington for Chytil, Pettersson, O'Connor, Mancini...a really good player, some bad players they evaluated poorly and signed, and some prospects - traded for quantity.
Clear a bunch of cap and do it all over again next year.
Nah it was definitely also to dump Heinen, who was signed when? Oh right, at the same time. LmaoOh ya the first was for dumping Vinny only right exactly uh huh
He’s not physical at all, he’s trash and soft. Takes penalties like they’re going out of business and when he isn’t doing that he’s throwing pizzas to everyone.I also think Desharnais is a useful addition for the Penguins as well, mostly because they're small and soft and Desharnais is actually big and physical (or at least more physical). I'm not thrilled about taking Heinen back because I think he may end up blocking out young guys like Tomasino and Koivunen, but Desharnais does fill a need and I don't think he'd really be blocking anyone on the Penguins.
The Canucks are probably happy his contract was moved but I don't mind the Penguins taking him on.
You'll be disappointed with Desharnais. It was shocking how little physicality he brought. Was improving through the year until his dreadful Edmonton game though.I also think Desharnais is a useful addition for the Penguins as well, mostly because they're small and soft and Desharnais is actually big and physical (or at least more physical). That good, huh? He’s not physical at all, he’s trash and soft. Takes penalties like they’re going out of business and when he isn’t doing that he’s throwing pizzas to everyone.
I’m really surprised Heinen didn’t work on the Canucks. He was really important to the Bruins middle six last year.
Yeah HF is typically wrong about trades when the opinion is so one sided, selfishly I hope the moves of the past few days work out well for Vancouver and cause the Flames to miss the playoffsCanucks overall takes a big step down to take two steps up. This all could work.
That probably depends on what's out there. How long until Dubas flips the 1st?
Not a comment on Dubas’ management ability but I’m just curious if there will continue to be a push to try to be competitive now for Crosby or is this signalling that the rebuild will start? That probably depends on what's out there.
I think Dubas has won some and lost some, but he's definitely been working at it and I think overall the Penguins are in better shape now than they were when he was hired. Nothing Earth-shattering, but movement in the right direction.
Petterssson is a legit 2/3 dman in the league. People do know that right?
I would be surprised if Boeser isn’t moved before the deadline. I don’t think management wants to commit to him longterm and would rather replace his spot in the lineup with someone who brings more speed and/or size. If he’s dealt for the obligatory 1st+ before the deadline I can see them trying to flip that for someone else. Columbus has been rumoured as a team that apparently covets Brock, maybe something involving him and Cole Sillinger? This is definitely a retool - not a rebuild - so I’d say more shoes are gonna drop in Vancouver.
I don't think there's a whole heck of a lot that anyone could do to make the Penguins competitive now, other than small, incremental changes. Not a comment on Dubas’ management ability but I’m just curious if there will continue to be a push to try to be competitive now for Crosby or is this signalling that the rebuild will start?
