Well, I was thinking for the Canucks, that a 2nd, Mynio, and Hoglander would be a fair return for Marcus Pettersson. While the Penguins got a 1st, the prospect isn't rated as highly as Mynio (though he is younger), and there's no younger player. Instead, the Penguins got two older players.
Getting a higher 1st makes up for getting the worse (for now) prospect and taking on a couple of cap dumps next season. Plus, there is always the possibility that the 1st ends up being higher than 20th, and that possibility brings me so much joy.

I like you.

I'm a big time O'Connor apologist but at this point he's a 3rd liner who should give you 15 goals 30 points. He's a LW who can play C when needed as well as regular PK time. He's got size and speed which he uses to be good on the forecheck by using his reach to smother opponents. Offensively he's a shooter rather than a playmaker and at times using his speed and size to effectively drive the net. Shows flashes of being more consistent offensively but never able to put it together for long. Could be a real menance on the forecheck if he threw the body more.

I guess he's a good energy guy in your bottom 6 if you don't need scoring from him. I admire the guy's work ethic but found his lack of scoring touch to be maddening, personally. Best of luck to him in Vacnvouer.

Love it, the OG Petterson drunk with power the minute JT Miller is out

GM: But Elias, there are no more Pettersons left..
EP40: I said MORE
GM: Yes sir sorry sir, I'll ask the Ducks about Lucas Petterson
Whole ice of Pettersons

Rangers first is a plus. AT 13 or better this year Pens can get a nice prospect. Like the young Swede player as well. At 18 and playing in the SR league is good. He can shoot it. Dubas is doing well here to reload the Pens with 29 picks in first 3 rounds next 3 years. Cap going up gives him more room to trade a couple vets like Karlsson and Rust with less retention. Petts is a quality player and person. But he doesn't fir what the Pens are building now. DOC is a good PK but just never developed enough on his offense.

Uhh they have 15 picks, but still a good amount

They did it. They finally topped the Swedish twins with Swedish triplets.

Can't wait to hear the PBP on an all-Pettersson 3-on-3 OT.

"Pettersson. Pettersson. And Pettersson. Here's Pettersson. PETTERSSON!!"

I will always love THE DRAGON <3 RIP Pittsbugh, daylight in BC!

So, Vancouver trades:
JT Miller 8
Vincent Desharnais 2
Danton Heinen 2.25
Melvin Fernstrom
Erik Brannstrom
Jackson Dorrington
12.25 mill

For:
Marcus Pettersson 4.025
Drew O'Connor .925
Filip Chytil 4.437
Victor Mancini
9.4 mill

Saves almost 3 mill to potentially re-sign Pettersson.

Yes, Miller can be a pretty good player, but given that their two best players weren't playing well at all this isn't a bad return for the nucks and I kind of like it as it gives the team depth and they moved out some contracts that weren't bad, bad, but weren't helping, like Desharnais.

I get why Vancouver fans don't like it, but with no dog in this fight I think it's pretty solid all around.

Vancouver has the Peters.
Colorado has the Woods.
Who's got the Johnsons?
Columbus could sign Tyler Johnson and trade for Buffalo’s LD Ryan Johnson to join Jack and Kent Johnson.

The Rangers are starting a Miller collection of JT and K’Andre Miller.

Boston has the Lindholm’s Elias and Hampus.

Edmonton has the Skinner’s Stuart and Jeff.

Florida had the Boqvist‘s but Adam was placed on waivers and subsequently claimed by the Islanders.

Can a Canucks fan explain why I'm seeing so many comments celebrating getting rid of the bad Desharnais and Heinen contracts and paying a premium to do so? It doesn't look like they really need to shed cap. If they were both buried, they'd be under $2M combined, and the team looks to have a substantial amount of room. What am I missing?
Copium they wanna use their first too lol.for what who tf knows.

Wow, let's just assume Miller is an absolute dirt bag because that doesn't make any sense otherwise

Canucks should rebuild. This effort to clumsily compete is just gonna backfire. They gotta be terrified about Q. Hughes not extending.
