Yup. I'm just so f***ing angry at both of these dipshits.

We survive 8 years of Jim Benning and come out the other side looking like a legit contender only for it to be wrecked because two pissbaby millionaire hockey players can't just get along.

For sure, I think that all discussions about these two trades needs to be couched with an understanding that this ****ing sucks and we should all be mad that we've gotten to this place.

Yep, this right here. It really is unbelievable, and because of it I think Pettersson has to go as well because you know damn well there's still hard feelings for some.

Yeah, I'd say it's probably >50/50 that Pettersson is gone before his NTC kicks in, too.

Unless his play goes nuclear and he carries us to the playoffs to put the last year behind him, I'm not sure how his position in that dressing room is very tenable either.

This isn't lip service to a traded player. It's been very obvious for a long time that Miller was very popular with the core veteran group on this team - Boeser, Garland, Demko, Myers, etc.

Nobody should be surprised if those guys are upset about this.

Some fans here have constructed a narrative that Miller was a high school bully that nobody liked who was acting like Biff from Back to the Future and stuffing Poor Defenseless Petey into lockers, and that is just blatantly not the case. And the breakdown in the relationship between Pettersson and Miller is *a lot* more complicated than that with a lot of blame on both sides. There's a reason Pettersson has almost been traded at multiple junctures, too, with Miller remaining.
Agreed. I'd also add, he's also been seen around town with others outside that core group like Hronek and Joshua. I don't buy that no one liked him and are just lying through their teeth for their farewells.

Wildly unlikely, I'd say -- and only if someone offers the world for him. Management chose their guy.

I just know he’s going to put up an amazing two way game and not look checked out like he was here

It's weird to me when people say this because he wasn't hitting on 100% of his games (his last game against Nashville was a bit of a stinker, Buffalo wasn't good) and he's had some bad moments on individual plays but I'd say in probably 11 or 12 of our last 15 games he's been our best forward and the games we've been winning he's usually been our best forward.

Was close with Zadorov also. Generally the list of guys who we know were close with Miller is a lot longer than those who were close with Pettersson. And a guy like Boeser seemed to migrate into the Miller camp from the Pettersson camp over the years.

I just meant today half jokingly, compared to the obvious volatility he’s been giving us in-game, regardless if he has been our best forward, which he has. I love the player and wish him the best.

I saw JT at taphouse at park royal with Hronek and Sherwood the day after the Florida game when he came back in December. His wife was also there. I got seated right next to them and they were definitely having fun and you could tell Miller was very happy to be back, I listened to their conversation for about an hour, kinda hard not to I was a bit in shock being sat right beside my favorite canuck. No one else in the restaurant noticed, except whoever was playing the music put on the goal song "don't you forget about me", dude was so happy when that song came on.. ah man, this sucks

Rangers play in 40 minutes, JT will be playing :(

I know for a fact that him being a bully is not a narrative constructed by the fans.

Does EP even have a camp? Seems the whole organization was in agreement that EP hasn't been putting in the work.

Hogs and Hughes are buddies with EP off the ice, but they are also the 2 most hard working players we have, and are fully aware EP has been slacking. Hell, Hughes while living with EP, basically turned his back to him on the PP for a full year due to his refusal and inability to shoot.

This is why I struggle with the inferences being drawn.

If the loner Pettersson has been lazy and slacking, and the popular Miller was justifiably upset with him, then trading Miller for peanuts instead of Pettersson for a real return would be insanity. You’re losing value, trading the better performer when you’re trying to win, and destroying morale in the room by trading everyone’s buddy instead of the guy everyone is frustrated with.

Maybe management is that dumb but it just seems too unlikely. I agree they both seem to be to blame but there has to be more than this.
