Confirmed with Link: [VAN/NYR] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, & Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and 1st 2025 (Top-13 Protected, Unprotected after)

Sure buddy

Seravelli is an Oiler shill and a bitch - I don't believe a word he says about the Canucks smh. What, the team all wanted Petey traded? If that's the case - management probably would've sent his ass out to get a better top 6 forward and top 4 D

Little concerned about Chytil but I am also excited by his game & potential. Its just the injuries.

He'll get a good opportunity here. If he can stay healthy he could definitely be the answer at 2C. But for now I have him as an intriguing question mark/roll of the dice.

Mancini is interesting too. It sucks moving JT but I don't think they did bad especially if they sign M. Pettersson.

The locker room in NY has been dog shit just like the Canucks. I'm curious to see if Chytil is able to fill out as a quality 2nd line centre here because of that. Still only 25 as well.

My thoughts on JT Miller.

Initially Benning traded him because he thought he needed to add a forward with some physical/skill to play on our top 2 lines with Petey or Bo.

But Miller continued to develop and eventually went from a top 6 winger to a legit 1st line C.

A 1st line C that can go end to end to score, to slowing the game down on the PP and was our main half boards distributor on PP1. When Tocchet took over, Miller when not pouting worked his ass off on both ends of the ice and times shut down the best players in the NHL with skill/physicality.

Over ppg in a canucks jersey. He deserves a lot of praise for his play on the ice.

However, I was never a fan of some of the moments where his competitiveness seemed to crossed the line.

I've watched hockey since the 90s and never once remember a player yell at his goalie like Miller did to Delia, while the puck was on his stick - never seen it.

Even grumpy Kesler didn't act like that on the ice and we know how competitive he was.

Seen him get into altercation with Luke Schenn, yell at Dakota Joshua etc..

As a fan, never know what happens in the room, but from can be seen, there's time he crosses the line of a player and sometimes acts like he's the coach - that's not a true leader.

The trade return is obviously minimal, its basically a first, weak/soft 2nd line C and a b prospect.

Hopefully this removes the source of the conflict in the room. Now its up to Petey to show up or he's next.

Aging player with a long-term NMC was never going to get an incredible return. Doesn't feel like a win right now, but it's still a decent Player/Prospect/pick(turned into Pettersson the 3rd) package that has potential to work out well for us. The extra cap space is a little bonus. Might actually have something in Mancini

Return was about what i expected. Chytil is a solid middle 6 C. As for the "one hit away from ending his career" that's literally the same as every player in the league. Definitely need to find a bigger, more physical C to replace some of what JTM brought though. Maybe moving Boeser next helps with that?

Not sure what to think of Mancini. Doesn't seem to have much upside, going solely on counting stats. Big RHD with no offensive production at any level feels like window dressing more than a coveted piece. Wait til I see him in the Orca, but expectations are low.

Waiting to see what happens with the 1st and the cap space before I fully judge this trade. If we get 100 point EP back + turn the other assets into another key piece, we could end up being just fine.

Am glad this saga is finally done. The constant sagas are starting to remind me of the end of the Gillis era.

Sorry for all the hard work on responding, but I got duped by a troll account.
Deleted the post and replies.

nobody asked but i'm an NYR fan and here's my thoughts on what you're gonna get

Let me preface by saying I f***ing love Filip Chytil. One of most likeable players I've seen in years on this team. Great attitude, hard worker, battled back through a mountain of injuries and his head failing him to keep trying. He's ultra fast and is absolutely not afraid to challenge D one on one. His skating with the puck on his stick is elite. He excels on the cycle and on the rush. I've been stomping my feet that he'd be a tremendous PKer the last 3-4 years due to his reach and bursts of speed.

But........he has quite a few drawbacks

- A very, very extensive and well documented injury history. I'm not kidding and neither are other NYR fans when we say he is probably legit one big hit away from his career being done. He got kinda sorta headbutted by K'Andre Miller this year and it took him out for weeks. It was a nothing play if it were anyone else. There is legit concern there. His tendency to carry through the zone and fearlessly challenge defenders makes him a big target for blueline hits which only exacerbates these fears.

- Defensively he's lacking and he's dogass on faceoffs. One of the worst in the league.

- Despite having terrific speed and willingness to challenge on the rush......he's not a particularly great passer or shooter. He's good enough at both and he tries enough that he will get points doing so, though.

Vic Mancini I've been following since he got to the AHL. Mans got tools for days. He's huge, great skater, good passer, good shot, plays physical at the net front and open ice. In like his 5th NHL game he flattened Tom Wilson in open ice. But, his IQ and ability to read the play are very, very underdeveloped. He flails wildly in the AHL between a dominant defender and absolutely brainless. He made the NHL out of training camp in a huge shock (mostly cause Lindgren got hurt in preseason) and it was almost immediately clear he was over his head. He's not that young at almost 23 and you're at a stage where you really want to see him grow quickly, but his reads are so bad I'm not sure he's that close.

Not sure I added anything new here but I am rooting hard for both of these guys. Best of luck to them and you all.

maybe mancini will surprise me but i think i would have preferred lindgren. the canucks probably could have moved him for a pick at the deadline
You absolutely would not have. Lindgren is one of the worst regular D in the league being propped up by Adam Fox. The entire HFNYR board can't wait to get rid of him.

Rangers fans are lukewarm on this, which speaks volumes about Miller's reputation because they should be doing cartwheels.
it's not Miller really (though the irony is not lost on us), it's moreso we're ultra pessimistic on the outlook of this team right now with Panarin, Zib, and Kreider all having dreadful seasons and Miller really isn't going to fix that.

Locker room cancer... glad he's gone. Trade Petey too - this team doesn't need any divas. So tired of the drama
