Confirmed with Link: [VAN/NYR] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, & Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and 1st 2025 (Top-13 Protected, Unprotected after)

Disappointing
Both the return & this entire saga.

Although to be honest I’m kind of glad Miller is gone. He’s a great player when he’s on & is a guy you win with… but when he’s off: he was lazy, would cough up the puck in glorious scoring situations & openly had THE worst attitude I’ve ever seen on this team. I dunno what happened earlier this year but imo he was checked out since he returned. I think back to the Media bringing up the fact fans were chanting his name at a WWE event of all places & he could not have cared about the support from the fans.

Miller is what Bertuzzi was, except Bertuzzi was beloved and gave a shit. Both were lazy and passive when shit hit the fan though

Wow, what a shitty return, seriously the whole management deserved to be fired. If that is the maximum return the rangers can offer, our GM should laugh and hang up the phone.

Frankly unless Demko was coming back in top form I didn't think the Nucks would be competing this year or next year regardless.

Not a great return for a center who can put up 80-100 points for a couple more years and is on a good contract but spots were limited and the Nucks were a little forced.

It's basically Chytil who I would also consider a meh 3rd line center and probably a 18th-24th spot 1st rounder for Miller.

I really hope the Rangers keep that pick this year. An unprotected 2026 pick could be $$$ with the way that franchise is flailing.

May JT Miller be even more disruptive in that dressing room than he is here.

I predict Chytil will get the Quinn Hughes treatment here and see his numbers absolutely pop. Quick little pump and dump.

We'll see what they do with one of the 1st rounders they have, better be something like the Horvat deal, I was happy how that ultimately played out. That's $3.6 million in cap to play with right away.

No pressure EP40, but you better get your act together, like, immediately.

The good news is that we're not tied for Chytil for very long, 2 years at 4.375MM

If he's a flop we could buy him out for 718k cap hit (25 or younger) for 4 years and target a better UFA replacement.
Is everyone really getting up in arms over 4.375 million? I thought he was like 6 mil by the way people here talked about him.

The way I think of it is that the Canucks got back essentially everything they needed in a return, even if the quality of the individual pieces wasn't at the absolute highest they could've been. Getting back a replacement C, a young RHD, a first as trade capital, and the cap space from not retaining whatsoever is exactly what the Canucks were targeting and they're pretty fortunate to check off every item in their shopping list given this whole debacle
This is pretty much the way I see it as well. The value is a bit underwhelming so I understand why some are upset, but the pieces make sense (positionally), the 1st is a solid trade piece (potentially), and we're freeing up invaluable cap space at the same time.

The trade has very good potential considering the tricky spot management was in. Sad to see JT go, but won't miss the drama. We now undoubtedly need to add some more grit as well, though.

What an absolute disaster of a return.

Chytil (Shityl?) is a borderline negative value asset. NYR just took us to the cleaners.

There aren’t even words for how much I hate this. Window is closed. 100 point matchup C for an overpaid 3C with concussion issues and a 5D prospect.

Hopefully we trade Pettersson now too because I really don’t want to watch either of these immature losers ever play for this team again. They’ve both totally f***ed this team and the fans.
Not only all of this, but I get the feeling we are now going to get to watch this management team struggle (and fail) to compete now! so that Hughes doesn't leave with the ultimate result being lots of win now moves that don't end up working, f*** us for the future, and see Hughes leave to New Jersey in a couple of years anyway.

Rather a hard reset/rebuild/scorched earthy policy, as unrealistic as this may be, then where we are heading. Think Calgary 2.0 post Tkachuk and Goudreau,

we were always going to get cooked here. it's just shit.

i always liked chytil but i hate acquiring players who are one or two injuries away from their career ending, and he's one of those.

well. let's see. management has a 6 month clock right now. where will they be by the end of june?

Hate that it's come to this but in reality I'm cool with the return, all things considered.
Chytil's fun to watch and has a whole lot of skill, if not an obvious Tocchet type. He also might get a career ending concussion by sneezing.

Thanks for the good times JTM

Can you imagine a Zibanejad - Miller - Kreider line? Absolute tremendous skill but also three of the most volatile, polarizing players in the league

Rutherford and Allvin got COOKED...

This is an awful return... I would have rather held on...

Might as well blow it up and trade away Petey, Boeser, Hronek, and Quinn while we are at it. No way Quinn is staying around for another rebuild.

Wow...
