Yep.....'Trader Jim' has three Cups to his name and installed in the HOF. The moves on from guys quickly, even after he signs them.Rutherford, aka Trader Jim, has been doing it his whole career and it hasn’t prevented him from having success.
I think it’s actually fair to the player to get another opportunity if he’s no longer hitting expectations. Better than wallowing in the press box.
Very true, also having Mancini too. Guessing they want to get him into some games here. Won’t be surprised at all if Forbort goes as well.Yep.....'Trader Jim' has three Cups to his name and installed in the HOF. The moves on from guys quickly, even after he signs them.
But let's face it.....when D-Petey came in and basically blew the doors off everyone, Soucy's days were numbered. It's all about making 'incremental improvements'.
Allvin and Rutherford have almost totally re-made the Canucks back-end, and completely on the fly in mid-season. And I don't think they're done yet.
My take away from this is that EP40 has fathered many children in the last 12 months.I was listening to a podcast and I think it might have been Ferraro (could be wrong about that though) and he was talking about Soucy’s decline this last season and brought up something I’d never considered before:
It is fairly common for fathers of newborns to struggle (apparently the situation Soucy is in).
I’d never considered that before, but as someone who has brought home a newborn, it can (and often does) kick your career in the ass (at least for a short time).
I thought Soucy was a really nice addition last season, and a big part of why this team took a step forward last season. His play this season was extremely disappointing though.
New dad or not, you have to figure that shit out and show up ready to play your best hockey.
Saw an interesting study that stated that the sight of a newborn baby will lower the testosterone level in men. That kinda describes the kinder gentler Soucy we’ve had this year.I was listening to a podcast and I think it might have been Ferraro (could be wrong about that though) and he was talking about Soucy’s decline this last season and brought up something I’d never considered before:

Kind of a shit move in hindsight with no follow up. Yeah Soucy stunk this year but we needed and still need someone on the RHS to push the guys who aren't Hronek.
