I don't see any possible reason for Nashville to consider this. We're not rebuilding, so we're not particularly interested in picks and prospects right now.

Serious question, is J Subban any good?

What does he project to be?

As a realistic high end projection:

-Tiny bottom-pairing Offensive/PP specialist with defensive issues, but a Premium nameplate cachet.

So somewhere between there, and where he is now...as a guy who can produce offensive numbers at the AHL level, but has some substantial issues defensively and in terms of his diminutive size.

He's basically what would happen if you photocopied PK Subban at 75% scale, with the added stubbornness of having a superstar sibling.

:dunno:

Nashville seems to me among the least likely of destinations for Jordan Subban. As not only do they have the genuine article real deal full size Subban brother PK. But they also have a number of substantially better defensive prospects in a similar mold.

No. Even if Wilson is only putting up 20 goals and 20 assists, it's 40 more points than J Subban will put up on our team. There are a number of guys who would be ahead of him on the depth chart especially since he would be playing 3rd pair. Subpar defense isn't what we need on our blueline anyway, and we have plenty of offense back there.

I really don't see a reason why Nashville would make this trade.

Or if Vancity had a normal GM it would make no sense for us either. We need picks esp since our drafting has finally started to be good the last two seasons

If we dont draft from within we are doomed for a long long time which may happen anyways. Keeping our picks gives us SOME chance

Elite offensively, very bad defensively. IMO:

2% chance of being a top pairing.
18% 2nd pairing
40% 3rd pairing
40% career AHL'er

More like

0% top pairing
2% 2nd pairing
20% 3rd pairing
the rest % AHL

Hes really good in the AHL

If he maintains good production, he'll inevitably see some minutes with the Canucks during the regular season this year or next, and everything will be contingent on how those minutes go.
