FWIW, Puckpedia’s Draft Pick Trade Value Calculator and their Salary Dump Calculator suggests the Canucks are doing well to only pay a presumptive late 2025 2nd to unload Mikheyev (and to get a 2027 4th round pick back).

Their estimated cost to unload Mikheyev in their calculator is a mid 1st-round pick.

I believe they would and then the trade comes off as 2nd and Laf for 4th and futures. In this instance of course the futures more aptly representing a past (claim Mik off waivers) transaction.
