Regardless of his defensive play, it's kind of crazy that a 28 year old with 39 goals and 74 points just last year is a throw in in a trade for a rental.
Coach just didn't like him. Canucks were never gonna get that out of him again

Exciting!

Calgary fans, I know Lindholm was up for a Selke nomination 2 years back but how is his defense now?

It's still good. His best aspect really.

Kind of always been hot and cold offensively. He's struggled this year I think mostly being in his head about the contract and the state of the team. He's an all around really good fwd, just not the elite 1C the Flames needed to take another step. He's at his best when he's digging in on the boards and making 2nd efforts that create chances for his linemates. Imagine he'll fit in fine for the Canucks.

Oh I know, it's not a big loss for the Canucks since Tocchet was never going to play him much anyway but this guy looked like a star last year. Just crazy how things changed so quickly with him.

Soooo... is trhis good or bad for either team?>

Canucks get rid of a guy the coach doesn't trust and gets 5.5m off the books for next year when they have to re-sign Hronek and Pettersson, also get a much needed top 6 FWD.

Calgary gets to buy low on a 39 goal scorer, while also getting futures

He needs to play in a low pressure environment where there is less demand for two way hockey. If he goes to a team like Chicago he could probably pop in 30 goals but I'm not sure he ever scores 39 again.

I'm hoping he gets an opportunity to shine in Calgary. He's still a really good player
