Markstrom wasn't that good, until he was traded to Calgary, to be frank.
Disagree. Was always very consistent and capable of a huge workload. Vancouver couldn't keep him and Demko though, so that went with the younger guy. Demko and Thatcher have very similar numbers.

Calgary also passed on Demko in the draft for Mason McDonald. So worked out well for both clubs?

Yeah, I think Treliving was thinking no one would take him and they could pick up a depth D-man. When Vancouver picked Richardson up they went to plan B.

And no offence to Richardson, Carpenter is 6 years younger and likes to body check. Also defensively responsible like Brad was.

Good pick up for the Canucks.

I can't believe a team actually signed this old fossil and another team picked him up ... The nhl has to many AHL or veterans in the league masquerading as legit talent while being overly paid for below avg performance

Hopefully he retires soon so I stop mixing him up with Brad Richards…every fricken time.

Anyway, he’s a fringe NHL winger with decent defensive prowess. I’m surprised there weren’t better options available, but he probably won’t hurt a roster in a depth role.

He keeps making it into our lineup....and frankly better you guys than us. He won't get waived though, for some reasons coaches love him.

I couldn't stand him when he was on the Oilers. Tippett just wouldn't take him off the powerplay. Maddening.
