Proposal: Value of Quinn Hughes

It's a message board, where many of us speculate. Some of us even use logic! That's not "pretending to know what any management group is thinking".

And WTF is "You're out of your element" even supposed to mean?!?

All I know if that you've yet to even remotely attempted to actually provide a counter-argument to anything I wrote. Just a useless post saying essentially that I shouldn't even speculate on the subject, but somehow it's OK when you do.
At some point you're arguing with yourself. Just have to realize not everyone is interested in good-faith, intellectually-honest debate.

You could say something as certain as 'we will all die one day' and I bet millions out there would have a rebuttal for you lol

Don't pretend you know how any management group is thinking and what they want to do to improve their team for the coming season(s) or what they would be willing to part wih. You're out of your element.
Management told us today. They are spilling the beans like they want to be fired lol.

I swear this management regime is WAY less chaotic than the Jim Benning one. It's a complete tire fire in VAN.

Tocchet knows something. He talked to Hughes before he told the Canucks no. You know Quinn told him he's bouncing.

The top paid defensemen in hockey are at 11.5 and 11 million. Karlsson and Dahlin. I would say Hughes would be between 12 and 13 plus million. Two years from now it will be more.
And, Detroit nearly made the playoffs and have a future. Hughes has His drawbacks. Other defensemen have allot to offer. Hughes was pounded in last years playoffs. He is still a small player. But, He plays hurt.
What are you trying to say exactly? Every team would want Hughes. Doesnt matter if he is small or you dont like him. Who are these magical defensemen that offer "a lot more"?? Aside from Makar being the same level, all other dmen are a tier or more below him.

Detroit nearly making playoffs similar to Canucks nwarly making playoffs in a tougher conference where you needed 96 points to make the cut. Detroit would be lower than seattle in western conference, nowhere near playoffs

Dahlin is 6.3 210lbs. Bouchard is big. Werenski scores allot. Makar is as good as Hughes. Hedman is a force. Quinn Hughes might not last four playoff rounds. Detroit has some good young players.

Crazy. We shouldn't even be having these conversations. But I guess this is what happens when a team's core absolutely implodes.

GM public declarations are not helping. They have a Franchise Dman in his prime and they are screwing this. If they don t have faith in Pettersson, and Hughes won t resign in two years, now is the time to blow it up. I don t get the hold up Situation with Wilander but it seems like GM failure all the way at this stage.
If they trade Q Hughes it should be for an outrageous package given the number of Teams which would be interested.

Hughes is 100% getting 15m +

The cap is projected to be $113b. If it is anything like then every team will have at least $10m over what they had in 2026 and close to $20m over 2025. That's a whole lot of cap burning a hole in desperate GMs pocket. A dozen GMs would throw $15mof that a Quinn Hughes, some might go much higher. Rapid cap inflation is going to reet salary levels. The ideas you can pick up a top tier UFA for $11m will be long gone by then.

He also said in that same interview that Quinn has never told the team he would like to play with his brothers. So quote that too lol.
Just did a Google of the interview, perused the first three articles, and I found no quote of this. Care to share?

I'm not sure that New Jersey has the room or need for a 12 million dollar defenseman. They have puck moving defensemen. It is a big ask for Quinn to want to play with His Brothers.
Anyways Vancouver has turned into a basket case.

He’ll sign for more than that and yeah we don’t “need” him but if a Norris D wants to come to your team in his prime you make that happen.

Can the Devils afford that? Maybe he gives them a discount :sarcasm:

I mean the sarcasm isn’t needed. Jim said it might not come down to money with him and he wants to play with his brothers. The logical line of thought would be he might take less to go to the Devils.

Around the 15 minute mark.

Yeah, its not in there... That exact quote was in all three articles and does not once mention anything about Quinn not saying something

You need to get your ears checked. In that link I posted, at the 15 minute mark JR was asked the question regarding whether Quinn has ever mentioned to him playing with his brothers, “No”.

It quite literally was not. In fact, hes not even asked a question anywhere around the 15 minute mark.

But youve wasted enough of my time and I had a feeling when you posted no source it wasnt true

And mysteriously, no other Canucks fan has brought it up; not even on their sub-forum. Weird.

Have a nice day

You’re clearly not listening to the same interview. If anyone has wasted anyone’s time it’s you by not understanding how to click a link, press play and skip ahead to the 15 minute mark. Can’t fix useless. I’ll even attach the link again for you:

Go ahead and quote it. You know, the words out of Rutherford's mouth

Either that or Ill consider this misinformation and perhaps have someone look into it for a rules violation

Interviewer: “You know how tight the brothers are, Hughes, and you referenced it in your press conference possibly playing together. Has Quinn ever mentioned that to you?”

JR: “No.”

Rule's violation? Lol

Ah okay, was that so hard now?

So not the 15 minute mark as you so confidently proclaimed, but instead an entire half-minute later. Thats a start. Or did you think Id waste an hour to prove you right?

And wow, a quote! Something that could have so easily saved you and I time by posting in the first place. But instead you wanted to act high and mighty

He also said in that same interview that Quinn has never told the team he would like to play with his brothers. So quote that too lol.
'So quote that too lol'. But you couldnt until provoked after four posts, and practically being forced to? And you wonder why I didnt believe you?

But sure, if thats the attitude you hold when such information was right there and could have simply been given; Ill just make sure to refrain from asking for such a thing from you in the future

and hopefully for your Canucks Quinn decides to stay. Have a nice day.
