For 2 years, it's never going to happen. It's absurd.Potential #1 center.
Saying other teams can land Quinn is a fact, and one many are ignoring. But to then follow that with 'New Jersey is in no better position'.. well, thats just factually wrong. Where his brothers play matters to himAnd lots of teams could re-sgn him and some of them are a lot better than New Jersey. The 8th year is a real thing. New Jersey is in no better position to land Hughes than any other team. The offers in this thread are putrid.
5 1sts for a guy who wants to come here? Not sure that's going to work out for ya brother. Package isn't going to be that big. Get ready up in Vancouver to be disappointedWhat I find hilarious coming from devils fans saying they'll just wait and sign him in ufa is the lack of realization that even on a team friendly deal Hughes will cost 15 mil a season if not more with a 110mil salary cap. Sure it's going up but the value for the next 2 years for Hughes at 7.85 is insane.
If it was this offseason the package from NJ is silayev, Nemec, 26 and 27 firsts, Mercer and whatever they might want to do for salary. And I'm willing to bet NJ smiles while filing the trade because they just got the best/second best dman(top 5 playdriver) in the league and hardly took anything off their roster.
Boeser rights don't matter anymore. Has to be moved prior to the TDL.Random fantasy trade that both sides probably wouldn't accept (I'm a Hawks fan and I LOVEEE Hughes, wanted him so bad in the 2018 draft)
To Van: 2025 CHI 1st (proj 2nd-3rd OA can select Misa or Hagens), Kevin Korchinski,
Joe Veleno, Arvid Soderblom
To Chi: Quinn Hughes, rights to Brock Boeser, 2025 VAN 1st (15 oa), Thatcher Demko
CHI cops Marchment&Dumba in a cap-dump esque deal.
Marchment - Bedard - Boeser
Donato - Nazar - Teravainen
Bertuzzi - Moore - Mikheyev
Dach - Dickinson - Foligno

Nah, it gives them the ability to talk to him earlier (ala Guentzel / TBL)Boeser rights don't matter anymore. Has to be moved prior to the TDL.
"This is laughably ignorant. Let me one up you and compare the guy that can't play defense (except for maybe 15 games) with the best shutdown D in the league. I'm intelligent and should be taken seriously."This is laughably ignorant. The first few months of the season he looked like Jaccob Slavin.
The only thing he needs is consistency, but he's already shown flashes of being an excellent defensive player.
And Mercer CAN play center. Do the deal Vancouver lmao.seems logical the trade would be Nemec, Mercer and two 1sts.
I remember when Devils fans were on the opposite end of the bro spectrum, when Scotty Niedermayer dumped the Devils for Rob and the Ducks.Lot of coping in this thread. I'm sorry Quinn wants to play with his brothers and they are in NJ. You Nucks fans can try and convince another team to offer you that monster package you are looking for. No team will give you what you want for two years max of Quinn no matter how many times/different ways you ask. You aren't getting a future #1C for him.
Again I sympathize with the position you guys are in but don't take it out on us devils fans lol.
Where does the desire come from to fabricate criticism about a player you clearly don't watch?"This is laughably ignorant. Let me one up you and compare the guy that can't play defense (except for maybe 15 games) with the best shutdown D in the league. I'm intelligent and should be taken seriously."![]()
So a prospect with #1 potential is an absurd ask for 2 years of a Norris candidate and arguable top 5/10 player league wide? Noted. For 2 years, it's never going to happen. It's absurd.
I'd love to hear what Carolina fans would think of this Luke Hughes being capable of playing like Jaccob Slavin talk. I'm sure they'll laugh you back to your echo chamber where you all convince yourselves that he can play defense.Where does the desire come from to fabricate criticism about a player you clearly don't watch?
Such an odd thing to do.
He'll never be Jaccob Slavin, but his reach, skating, active stick, and puck moving ability are all very similar. He's proven to be very good defensively, no need to be jealous.I'd love to hear what Carolina fans would think of this Luke Hughes being capable of playing like Jaccob Slavin talk. That's a pretty odd thing, but some people live in reality, and some people lie to themselves.
Yah, but Hughes would probably say no elsewhere. His final destination is going to be NJ. What a lucky team. Going to get a dman like Hughes b/c he wants to play with his bros. I still cannot fathom why Jim would say that publicly. He ruined his leverage. Mindboggling
Yeah, thats probably about right. Why would a team trade a possible 5-10 year #1 for two years of a #1?So a prospect with #1 potential is an absurd ask for 2 years of a Norris candidate and arguable top 5/10 player league wide? Noted.

Maybe I’m catergorizing #1 center incorrectly. I’m basically saying that the Canucks should be looking for a center equivalent value of Simon Nemec.Yeah, thats probably about right. Why would a team trade a possible 5-10 year #1 for two years of a #1?
