Proposal: Value of Quinn Hughes

Because you get 2 years of a Norris Dman who can help you win a Cup.
Canucks won't trade him now. You can forget about that. It will be during TDL in his last year. So Canucks will do anything now to appease Hughes to sign an extension. Trading him now would be really stupid when he could very well also sign an extension.

Holding him would be very stupid if he is set on playing with his brothers.

Well you can't read his mind on what he will do. Money can be a funny thing. Throw 15 million, 7 years deal at him and he might change his mind. Also trading him at TDL during his last year is not holding on to him. He said he wanted to play with his brothers ever since he got drafted into NHL. Should the Canucks have traded him once NJ got Jack??

lol Nico's not going.
Hughes gets more points every year. Not sure why Hischier would not be available for him. And waiting for 2 years in the idea he will sign in NJ is a flawed strategy.

I am sure any number of teams will be interested in Q Hughes for 2 years (and a chance to extend).

You're going to be trading him for a rental price at the deadline.

Lol. This Fuggin team. Just cannot stop shooting itself in the foot. Absolutely unbelieveably stupid.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jim was just speculating because he can't keep his dumbass opinions to himself.

Maybe, we don't know what crazy things JR will say next 🤣

Funny how Alvin interrupted him before he can make any other claims

Everyone thinks they'll get a Kings ransom for their player but they rarely do.
Show me a player in Hughes caliber and age bracket that went for cheap in TDL?? He is a franchise dman, not just a depth dman on his last leg. Teams trade 2 1st round picks for pylon dmen that can barely skate. Can't compare Hughes to that. Even overrated Rantanen returned Necas to Colorado and he was never signed by Canes. Hughes would be worth way more than Rantanen.

I know he's a franchise player, I just don't think Vancouver will get equal value. Especially if he only wants to play for one team (Devils).

If he intends to play in NJ then it makes tons of sense to wait and let him come for free.

It makes 0 sense to trade our captain for an extra 1-2 years of Quinn.

A lot of people assuming he will engineer a move to New Jersey just because his brothers are there.

I know thats an easy connection to make, but people shouldn't assume things are going to happen just because they share the same parents.

Quinn could very well choose to stay in Vancouver and build a winner there or want to play for a team thats not the Devils.

I think it's also because Rutherford just said he wants to play with his brothers.

I mean he’s talked about it before and his GM literally just said today that’s what he wants lol.
