If Quinn Hughes became available in a trade next year with one more full year at 7.85 mil what would he be worth?

Which team might take a run at him and what could they offer?

Canuck needs are for very young top six centers and wingers.
Canucks have many player issues including age and a dearth of depth at forward core star players.

Teams won't trade that much because he's going to Jersey in free agency
That would be the next year they would have a full year to change his mind he isn't a FA until 2027
Teams would just wait the year to see what happens in free agency. Why give the canucks anything?
As stated above, they would have hm for a cup run or a marketing bump for a team needing to enthuse their market.
Hughes would not be a FA for another full year, in the summer of 2027.
They would have him that long and if they didn't think he would sign they could deal him at the TDL and come close to recouping what they used to get him.

Who would say no to trading for McDavid, Eichel, Mathews, McKinnon, Makar?
Look at what Karlsson got in return and Hughes has gone beyond him.

Rantenen and Guentzal stuff, ya, name how often that ever happens. what is strange is it happened to the same team, twice. Something in the water?
But then both were FAs at the end of that year.

I would've done Leonard + maybe something else smaller for Q. Hughes this year but I think that ship has sailed

The same reason teams didn’t “just wait” for Rantanen (twice), Tkachuck, Debrincat, etc

Canucks would get similar to what Carolina got if they want future, similar to what Carolina got if they want to win now

Probably more than what Rantanen got.

2 1sts + young future top 6 player + 2 3rds is what he got.

Maybe a top 4 LD/RD young with top pairing upside over the 2 3rds.
At what point does the cost to acquire a single player becomes higher than what said player can bring to a team?

No matter who the acquiring player is and no matter how good that player is, there is always a breaking point.

This may sound a little overconfident, but I kinda have to agree.

If I'm a team trading for Quinn Hughes, I'm assuming that he's either staying in VAN or going to play with his brothers. And trading for him kinda removes the first option.

If Quinn Hughes didn't miss time I think he'd be a back to back Norris winner this year.

Young D who if healthy should be top 3 in voting for next 8 ish years.

A team needs Elite talent to win the cup.

The Blues in 2019 may be the least star stuffed team to win it since the cap world began.

They still had Petro + RoR + Tarasenko etc.

Edit: Quinn Hughes level players do not grow on trees. If he is willing to go to a team you do it.

Who knows what happens but players get traded for large returns all the time when headed to free agency. Look at Rantanen
Carolina expected to try and re-sign Rantanen. If they knew he would end up in Dallas at the trade deadline because he wouldn't sign, then they would have never made the deal.

Hughes is a little different because he's under contract for two more seasons even though it's "assumed" that he will end up in NJ to play with his brothers at the end of his current contract. Some team may roll the dice if he pushes them over the top.

Threads like this are honestly disrespectful.

He is the captain of the Vancouver Canucks, and has never once said anything about playing anywhere else.

Has anyone here ever heard Quinn Hughes speak? He is a big time hockey nerd with oldschool values and work ethic, with designs on being one of the greatest players of all time. This is our Sidney Crosby.
