The guy's been solid. Seemingly responsible defensively. Smart offensively and plays a decent all around game that would mesh well with most of the playoff bound top 6 units.

If he continues his current production through the middle of the season thus suggesting he's not a rider in the league or a flash in the pan to some extent.

What value does he have as a pure rental?

Comparables may be a mixture between the Dvorak and Arvidsson returns in the last year??

Probably a 2nd and a 3rd or something like that in value. I don't think he's a surefire top-6 guy on a contender unless you're really lacking in top-6 wingers. Terrific addition to a powerplay though.

He's a fantastic producer obviously but the rest of his game is pretty bare bones.

Depends on the variables. it’s never one price, even if it’s for the exact same level player traded just a year before.

Lots of things factor into teams overpaying

He doesn’t play a premium position (C/D) and he isn’t a premium player type (i.e. power forward). However, his numbers are good and he’s an unknown, which could be a positive relative to someone like Max Domi.

If he keeps it up, maybe it’s one of those cases that sees a recent late 1st round prospect moved in lieu of a future pick.

He’s not good defensively he’s horrible defensively but he plays with 2 guys that cover those warts. I’d think he’d return a 2nd+ small add
He's...not bad defensively at all in comparison to some purely offensive players. 2/3s f his points are even strength, decent blocks solid takeaway #s and ya he gets a crazy amount of o-zone starts it's only 6% more than the leading scorer in the nhl right now with comparable defensive numbers

2nd + mid tier prospect would get it done. Unless his production falls off a cliff

29-year-old Tyler Toffoli was traded for Tyler Pitlick, Emil Heineman, a first-round pick in 2022, and a fifth-round pick in 2023.

The key differences are;
-Toffoli had 26 points (9G 17A) in 37 games when he was traded
-Had two more years left in his contract
-Has a 4.25M cap hit

In comparison, Kuzmenko has
-21 points in 24 games (11G 10A)
-26 year old
-0.95M cap hit
-UFA after the current year

I would argue that Kuzmenko is the younger better player with a much lower cap hit. The only thing against him is that he will be a UFA.

People suggesting a 2nd and a 3rd are not really considering what players received in recent trade deadlines.

he's terrible defensively but he's a dynamic scorer that's great in front of the net. he'll get a first plus easy as long as his conditioning holds up

how many SEASONS did TT player before that trade? TT had value due to a track record after nearly 10 years in the NHL.

People who are comparing pass trades don't understand how deep this draft is, Apples and Oranges.

Disagree. There’s no eye test or look at his numbers that suggest he’s anything less than a second liner.

I think he’s a great player, and has the type of game that would excel in the playoffs, but a first in this years draft is pure gold. I doubt we’ll see any/many move.

I'd pay a 2nd + 3rd to bring him to Carolina. Hopefully they could re-sign him to a reasonable deal. With Svechnikov, Kochetkov, Kuzmenko and Nikishin (future) Carolina would be mini-Russia.

Wait a second, Ben effing chariot got an unprotected 1st last year and your telling me a 26 yr old on pace for 35 goals on a 1 schmil caphit won’t get a 1st? Wtf….
Teams are looking for defensive players and toughness at the deadline. Teams in need of scoring wingers are usually out of the playoffs.
