In the meantime, I see Barrett as having a big role as 6man.
Maluach might be a great option in the draft. Being a bit more set at the swing spots hedges bets at the draft.
What makes Ingram a good fit I think is that he’s good but not so good that he demands to be the top dog.
Still Scotty’s team, still room to grow.
Who goes to make the salary work with Ingram - Barnes - Quickly? Barrett seems like the most logical to me

Ingram is a good trade if he resigns, like others mentioned. He is in his prime, has good years ahead of him, pure scorer if he can stay healthy... take his time coming back this year. Raptors tank, maybe luck out and get a top 5 pick... you show up next year with a pretty solid core not even cosindering what else transpires in between. The pick being Indianas helps, small price to pay if you can get Ingram into his early 30s signed. Also nice work to get a 2nd for Mitchell.

Khaman Maluach is likely in their range (unless we win a top 5 pick). Having our own pick in the next 2 drafts with everything else is just icing on the cake.

I do think if we sign Ingram that means Barrett is on borrowed time, they cant really fit on a team together and given the choice of the two do you take the one with below average defense with good scoring or the one with below average defense with excellent scoring?
Barrett isn't he a FA next yr

I think

Don't understand this trade at all

of course you don’t. Do you even watch basketball? Shead who we just drafted is ahead of him on the depth chart, plus Mitchell is a RFA so not in the long term plans. Plus we get a 2nd round pick for taking on PJ Tucker who we will likely waive

The Raptors basically took the Indy pick punted it down to the 2nd round gave up Olynk and Mitchell, Brown for Ingram. Masterful movement.

If anyone has a problem with these moves you might want to change sports

Depending on how this 1st goes the Siakim trade will look pretty good as a whole. Top 4 would be great.

Ingram was masterful movement, not Doncic but not bad.
