The thing is...Detroit isn't tanking or doing anything like that. They are the case study on why you shouldn't put all your eggs in that basket. The reality is that if Detroit had everybody, they still would struggle against the Raptors bigs (Poetl is bigger and more experienced than Duren and can basically push him around and their other bigs are 6'9 or shorter). At some point, you need size.

I PVR’d it and had it on in the background while marking and Barnes was great. Mitchell drives me nuts. Hopefully Shead can take over from Mitchell at some point this year.
I really like Mogbo. Wasn’t a fan of the pick but I like his tools.

In a perfect world, I would love to see some actual attempt at roster building (ie go out and acquire someone who could play the 4 and help the team in the case where they step up to the podium at the draft and the best kids available are either PG or SG).

Pelicans are awful but they need what they should do. Nice to get contributions from multiple players. Walter was great.

I know zero about him, but I kinda hope the Raps draft Ace Bailey. Just for the name.
They closed the game pretty badly offensively. Barnes was one assist away from a triple double.
The Pacers first round pick next year might be good for the Raptors.
Barnes had an unreal game. Raptors played really well most of the game but had a bad third quarter.
Once they get Quickley, Gradey, Brown, and Kelly back they will look really good.

Agreed. As long as Barnes and Barrett aren’t injured, this team will be around the play in spot. They’ve also played the hardest part of their schedule.

How? You can't just shut down Barnes/Barrett 20 games into the season.
You can do it towards the end of the season like Mavs did with Luka/Kyrie a couple of years ago and OKC did with SGA, but for the next 40 games or so their hands are tied.
Just gotta hope for competitive games that end in close loses.
