His NHL-confidence level had soured, consistently very good in the AHL. Hope Dobes will continue to improve as it seems Primeau will get an opportunity to be an NHL goalie in another organization. Habs brass saw his potential and kept him over Jake Allen, but it did not become a storybook ending. Hope he can lift the Calder Cup with the Rocket this year!

When he is the last man back and he closes the gap at a wrong angle no smarter player can help that. When he closes the gap and takes out his man like he did later in that second period sure a smarter player would cover his ass. Unfortunately Barre Boulet was not the smarter player on that particular play.

It's incredible how much further ahead Reinbacher is than anyone else there. It's also incredible how much better Engstrom is paired with him. I absolutely Love Reinbacher's ability to seal the wall on his strong side.

I hope we make minor moves for Laval. Go get Belzile back. BO Groulx. Laczynski at Henderson. Toninato at Manitoba. Pinho at Bridgeport. There are moves to be made here. Ship out some prospects that won't work out. Khanin, Kostenko, Sobolev, Jack Smith, Middlestadt...picks..whatever...
Yes me as well, but depending on the match up you would switch it around. Against guys like McDavid, Mackinnon, Hughes, I would expect our two best defensive defencemen to pair up and be exclusively deployed against them especially in a tight playoff series. Guhle without a reliable partner already plays well against McDavid.

Not sure the offensive skills are elite per say but his shot, yes.
Nice to see Laval adjust and get their game back. They looked bad in the 2nd.
