Wonder how that will work out, in terms of it breaking from constant missed shots and checking, in the long term. I'm sure a lot of NHL folks are watching.

I wonder what the players will think. Right now the boards are static to them, it's only people on TV who see the constant changing of the ads and movement. Not to mention any glare from the lights off the dasher.

Whether one likes the digital ads on TV or not, thus far it has had no impact on the game being played on the ice.

Real digital dasher boards might be trying to fix a problem that didn't exist.

I’m pretty sure they’re actual real digital boards.

I know the Sharks have had partial digital board sections for a few years.

I assume the LED lights are behind some pretty hefty acrylic that can take 100mph slap shots and board battles.

Thanks for this. Didn't realize they had it already.

I think the Kings have had a partial digital board for at least 30 years by my recollection.

That said, I'm not keen on this. As long as the images are static during gameplay I can live with it, but it's just more ads and distraction really. Maybe it works in soccer where the ball is big and easy to spot, but it seems to me that this could detract from hockey where the puck is much smaller.
