UTAH Undefeated vs Habs All Time Bergevin Trade Strikes Again

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Team missed Matheson offensively tonight, say what you will about him but we would've had more than 13 shots jesus
They had 17 shots the previous game with Matheson playing 25.5 minutes. That's only 4 more. Won the Oilers game with 25 shots before that.

Habs shots attempts was 47 againt Utah, and 50 the game before that. On average it's between 47 and 58. Other games of the Habs with 47 shots attempts this season: Sabres (23 on net) and Islanders (24 on net).

The only difference is that players missed the net more without Matheson maybe, but I don't think it would have been that different.

It's hilarious that they practices shooting at the net a lot during practices the last two weeks.

Tonight should be an absolute treat after last night's embarrassment Primeau a b2b I bet 5 or 6 to 1 Cbj and we don't hit 10 shots
This game could have a significant impact on the Habs moving forward. Another embarrassing loss with minimal effort sprinkled with chaos in our own zone is the prediction. I will watch Laval at Hershey instead.

Me thinks players are beginning to tune out, and St. Louis won't make it past Christmas. It's unacceptable to witness the young players struggle this bad.
Slaf reminds me of the Caufield who had 1 goal in 30 games under Ducharme

Good loss but the OT point sucks.

Our First overall is a 50-60 point guy we need to tank hard for the next two years

Not even close to comparable , Sergashev trade was garbage the first day it happened to anybody with a brain.

Romanov is not comparable to Serg
And Dach isn’t comparable to Drouin

1 was actually able to play his “off-position” and play center
1 was never given the benefit of injury as an excused after a plethora of injuries

Dach in a higher scoring era, will never have the career highs drouin has had.

If we had hired a real coach instead of MSL, maybe we could’ve recouped this asset instead of slowing watching him leave for free

at this point, you ride Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf for the better or the worst. There is no other solution and you can't let Slaf play 11min a night without pp time. If you want the kid to succeed, you need to put him in the right situation with the best players possible.

This has been an issue since last year. And it's a big one now that is still not addressed. Which is frustrating because it should be very easily addressed. I'm not saying it would fix all their problems (because they have many) but it would be a huge and easy step in the right direction to address them. I guarantee this pisses off the other guys on the team too.

Right now after 20 games this is where these guys rank for TOI per shift (entire league).

Matheson: tied for 5th OA with 59 seconds
Suzuki: tied for 6th OA with 58 seconds
Hutson: tied for 6th OA with 58 seconds
Caufield: tied for 7th OA at 57 seconds
Slaf: tied for 8th OA at 56 seconds
Dach: tied for 8th OA at 56 seconds

To me this is a glaring issue and would be the first thing I would address as a new coach coming in.

It's not so easily fixed. It's a sign that the lines are often dominated and stuck in their zone.

Idk about that , drouin was dogshit , Dach is not good this season but weve seen Drouin look just as bad as dach right now lol

KH, MSL and Gorton are probably laughing in their office right now, they don't give a shit, they're getting so many millions from Molson for doing nothing.
If you are Gorton and KH... you should be afraid, very afraid. Revenues are down for Molson... and while this was ok for a few years because it was the promess of better days and fans where ok with it, he wont not only tolerate to much of it when fan are turning on the team and may attend the games even less then now (I mean it's easy to see all the empty seat in the place every game).

Yes, at least put him somewhere stable and keep him there and show him you have confidence in him. He started the season slower but he was still connecting with Caufield.

That’s just not true. Dach has 2 games his entire time with us where he looked like a top 6 player. Compare their careers. It’s frightening to think we wasted a top 15 pick on this guy

The business value is now worth over 3 billions, I don't think Molson is freakin out honestly with a few empty seats

Value of the team has nothing to do with day to day revenues and expenses. You need cash flow to manage the team and all hockey ops... if you need to go to the bank to cover the cash flow deficit, you are not happy.

Trading Sergachev for Drouin was one of Bergevin's worst moves...dude was a bad GM
yeah... this GM is proving to be worst very quickly. It's sooooooooo fu$%ing obvious were a coaching disaster, the main goal of a coach is to get the absolute best out of a player and that is moving backwards !!

Dach had no Business on the ice in OT...What message does that send? Rewarding mediocre play and effort?
I get the feeling that MSL does not want to manage Dach with "hard love". He probably feel for Dach that has been going through tough times and is already pretty frustrated and lack confidence. So he's not rewarding him, but giving him the change to get out of the funk. That said... PICK YOU SPOT to help him.

All this bitching would have more merit if it made sense.

If Dach, Slaf, Newhook are truly this awful then how could you also blame MSL at the same time? How’s he supposed to win?

And inversely if MSL is even worse than Michou why would you blame a bunch of young players playing for the worst coach ever?

You can’t have it both ways and want to make it make sense.

There’s something going wrong. It’s frustrating to not know what it is. But benchings need to start.

As much as it would be a relief to find out Suzuki and Slaf are actually hurt they still better not be playing hurt because that stuff needs to stop
