I’ve been happy with sergachev and I expected a slower start where he’d need time to acclimate. So I’d say I’m pleasantly surprised by sergachev so early in the season.
Same for Moser and Geekie. Sergachev has played well overall. It was a hockey trade where I think both teams got what they wanted.

OEL/Yandle/Numinen. Serg is not as good on D as Teppo or OEL.
Not yet. I think he has the potential to pass OEL if he stays healthy and continues to improve. OEL had a couple phenomenal years where he looked like a world beater. Then many others where he left a lot to be desired.

Sergy is on a 18 goal, 60 point pace. Shockingly OEL never hit 60 points in his career, despite two 20+ goal seasons. If Sergy puts up 55+ points and with 15+ goals in three of the four remaining seasons where does he sit in terms of this franchise's top defensemen? What if he eclipses 60+ points in all four seasons and re-signs and becomes a long term fixture to the team?

It's mind blowing to me how under appreciated he seems to be perceived. Hell, we aren't even discussing him in his own thread.

I agree. He's not getting enough love. He's been so good and so important for us this season. With all the injuries to our best d-men UHC would probably be at the bottom of the league if BA hadn't traded for him. And kudos to Smith for being willing to spend.

He's going to be a big part of the team now and in the future. Can't wait to see what a healthy D core can add to what he brings.
