Proposal: Utah - PIT

Big Durzi fan, Marino is fine and Kesselring looked like a good find for majority of the season.

That defense got them to being likely 10+ points out of the playoffs given the entire LHD is returning.

I don't think Ryan Smith paid 1.2 billion dollars to have a team that misses the playoffs.

I think Utah focuses on strengthing their D and C depth this off season in flashly and expensive ways.

This team can't continue to be the Yotes in the new market or they will never build a fan base.

The team the gm inherited is waiting for recent high picks to develop that hrs picked from 21-24. They made positive steps this year.

Cap dump, a 2nd, and a decent 25 year old who has had an up and down season?

Doesn't seem like a lot lol.
Cap dump is EK.

Thst 2nd can be top 40 next year.
the "cap dump" who is still 25 can easily rebound, and the RD is kmproving.

Erik Karlsson would be electric in Utah.

HF’s stance on him is honestly bizarre.

I don't disagree, but Karlsson is not the way. I'd sooner pay Marner $14m a year than trade for Karlsson.

Sad that Utah fans don’t realize the issues with their team.

You mean the lack of defensemen that play defense? This teams needs something more like a McD, Skjei, or Ekholm.

Removing the pylon (Cole) that constantly tries to imitate Hal Gil might be a better start

It’s insane. He is on auto pilot and our best player/right on par with our best player in terms of impact. We suck and have dogshit in terms of defensive partners for him.

Imagine him on a good team with a decent partner. Whoever trades for him is getting major impact for what’s gonna be around a ~2nd rounder and change (hoping for more but doubt it with his NMC)

As others have said, Erik Karlsson would be a strange add to the Utah roster since he's an offensive defenseman. For the cost of Michael Kesselring going the other way, I'm not sure I like the idea.
