Even if we’re scheduled to draft in the top 3 I doubt Uncle Gary will help us out this time.

Just a hunch.
Remember when they called the Coyotes to tell them they won the draft lottery but decided to rig it for Chicago instead and said oops sorry Arizona we made a mistake?

Lol yeah the NHL would probably give it to the Sharks or Habs.

Yeah, as a distant fan of the team/Oilers guy it’s tragic watching this unfold. You gotta expect even the players are shocked he’s not canned
If they aren't going to speak up, they deserve this. Ownership and their undying loyalty to Sullivan is just beyond frustrating.

Sid's got a little more than 2 and a half seasons left under contract. He needs 91 goals to pass Lemieux's career mark...it seems like a reach considering his age, but it could be done. Not much else worth getting excited about on the horizon at this point.

With the way things are going now I’d be surprised if he hits 650 when all is said and done….

Imagine getting destroyed by the f***ing Uteruses or whatever the hell they are
As there's not a whole lot to add here on the dismal state of this team and its feckless ownership, congrats on your choice to catch strays. As someone who had a uterus until it was at long last medically deemed too hostile to continue living with - a true blessing - find another, less tired joke already.

Any team should be so lucky as to be as collectively tough and capable of making the other long for death just by existing as that singular organ is.

Yohe has to be the biggest f***ing tard. Show me any player right now that will tell you the truth about their coach. Michkov would tell you Torts is great too but to his mates he'd be cursing his ass out.

Like what the f*** do you expect them to say to a Sully glazer like Yohe? f***ing idiots. This is a coach that literally got Ian Cole traded for talking bluntly to the media.

You can get some value from Rust, Petts, Puljujarvi and Rakell imo. You can maybe get something, albeit nothing important, for EK and Letang. Graves, Jarry and Bunting are worthless.

As always; Keep Sullivan for the RS to tank. Ride Jarry/Ned, and guys like Beau, Bunting and Grz. Get what value you can for Petts, Puljujarvi, DOC and Rakell at the TDL. Fire Sullivan as soon as the RS is over. Hope you get Martone, Misa or Hagens at the draft. Trade Rust, EK and maybe Letang if you can during the summer.

Hunker down for a run at McKenna next season, and Dupont the season after.

He's on pace for what, 28-29 goals right now? The totals will decline in those next two years too.

Good chance he doesn't with Sullivan's damage.

You can get more value by firing Sullivan and hiring a coach that has then play better and you still move a lot of players for a retool to get younger.

Right now you're gonna have to see them deal players under performing under a shitty coach with less value on the trade market because of it and Gms know they can get these players for less. Dubas doesn't want to fight harder to fire Sullivan then enjoy being fired before Sullivan is, Kyle Dubasshole can't even see what's going on with the media.

These morons made Hextall out to be the most sinister human being to ever be in sports management and FSG fell for it. They're idiots. They would likely ask Sully and he'd say yeah he didn't give me "my guys" and fire Dubas.

No, he doesn't. No coach will fix this. You just need to accept the next few years will be bad. That's what's needed here.
The Pens organization is the one that needs to accept it. Fans have accepted that the Pens have been bad for 4 years in a row now. Fans aren't accepting this half-ass rebuild consisting of stockpiling mid round picks for players that might crack the NHL in 2030, if ever.

I don't think anybody on this roster's marginal bump in value is worth risking losing out on a Martone or Misa or Hagens. You're talking about maybe getting a late 1st instead of a 2nd for Petts or Rakell. Maybe a 2nd instead of a 3rd for Puljujarvi. I think that's a bad trade off.

Keep the idiot behind the bench, hope you secure your top-3 pick, fire him on April 18th and that's that imo.

-edit- Again, I think Sully's done. But the organization respects him too much to fire in-season imo. Which is probably a blessing in disguise because of the aforementioned top-3 picks.

YOU perceive it as half assed rebuild but many don't. We understand that the core has NMC's so our options are limited. The roster is just tired and stale. We just have to hit on our lottery picks and surround and develop a good supporting cast. If we draft effectively that's all that matters for the next few years.

Besides, they're so bad it's gonna happen whether they accept it or not!

We will definitely disagree on this and that's fine - For me personally, I think a lot of these players are far better than their production and play this season and would have loved to see someone like Montgomery/Woodcroft/Nelson behind the bench to see what they could get out of them first. It's no different than when they did it with Bylsma and Sullivan when the coaches were fired mid season.

Remember, in 2014, a lot felt Crosby was nearing the down years because of his play under Mike Johnston.

In that first 28 games before MJ was fired...

  • Crosby was on pace for 56pts
  • Kessel was on pace for 49-50pts
  • Letang was on pace for 46pts
Better yet, look at the ppg pace before and after.

Under MJ

After MJ was fired:

So yeah I think just firing a dipshit like Sullivan could boost a lot of players' value. Also just an entirely different defensive structure would help so many of these players as well, you can have Karlsson bounce back and move him, get more for Pettersson, and who knows, Graves might be better and be easier to move in the off season as well, same for Jarry and Ned. The team is already rock bottom, literally anyone else would have a better effect on this roster.

Yeah, we definitely agree that a new coach would get guys playing a bit better and boost their value. I just vehemently disagree that the marginal increase in trade value is worth climbing into like 8-10th overall territory and losing out on the best prospect they'll have the change to pick since Sid and Geno.

But Sully is absolutely tanking this roster's value. We agree there. I just think the guys on this roster have relatively meh value at best. EK's done, he's gonna need a full camp/pre-season on a new team to unf*** his head after years in this org. Petts is a middle pairing whatever blueliner. Rakell's a whatever middle-6 winger. Bunting's a 3rd liner. Puljujarvi's got potential as a third wheel on a scoring line but, ehhh. Rust has lost any value he brought to a line away from the puck and is basically just a 45pt floater now.

This team can get some assets for some of these guys, but the minimal bump in value from swapping coaches isn't worth missing out on a potential stud like Martone, Misa or Hagens.

But the second the season's over, tell Sullivan to eat shit and make him call his own Uber out of the arena. Don't even allow him to stick around and influence the draft or off-season moves, cuz he's definitely gonna lobby for this team to make a reach pick for some 5'10 dork that "plays the right way" and PKs from New England, and he's definitely gonna keep Rust here at all costs even when his NTC drops.
