Confirmed with Link: Utah Mammoth signs F Daniil But to 3-year ELC

I’ve never been more excited about a prospect than I have with Daniil But. Love this prospect. Currently the best prospect in our system IMO.
Have you even seen him play? Wouldn't it be nice if both became top line players, and contributed immediately. Chayka drafted Hayton and Soderstom, BA these two Russians. Let's see who drafted better.

Soda got screwed. He will return as a very good Dman. He's not a brute

Soda never showed anything while here.
He preferred to play the zone and stick and our coaches wanted him to play the body. I guess our system screwed him. He will flourish under the right conditions. Will go down as BA worst trades.

It all depends on what BA does with the cap space he freed up by trading Weber's contract. Soderstrom could very well end up being a solid NHL player, but so many teams have great players that slip though the cracks, only for them to succeed else where.

With so many prospects in the system and only so many contract spots, they are bound to lose more players for nothing.

Totally agree that why this off season so be all about the trades including 4 OA.

Kind of hard to get value for a player that flees back to Europe AND says he won't re-sign with your club. BA set Soderstrom free to pursue his dreams elsewhere and moved on. He could've been a jerk and just made him wait until his obligations with Utah expired.

"I told Utah that I wouldn't sign there even if they wanted me to, so the solution was to come home and start over a little and find the joy in playing hockey again."

"The goal has always been to move the rights to another club."

Victor Soderstrom Might Return To NHL After Rights Traded To Chicago: ‘We’ve Been Trying To Arrange It All Season’

Edit: It's likely that BA was shopping Soderstrom for quite a while before settling on what he did in the end.
