Lord Barron draws in with Guhle... poor Guhle. But I mean... really... what is a good D pairing with any of these guys? I thought Arbs-Struble kinda worked during the games they won. But they got badly exposed against Vegas. Not just them though. Everyone did. Sigh.

Oh Barron is playing.

I find it hilarious, that Strubs play on the 3rd line, but Barron gets re-inserted on the 1st pair (or 2nd pair, Hutson/Matheson will play more).

habs win, 7-6 in shootout
This is exactly the kind of game people in attendance would love to see actually. Some firewagon hockey!

I think Barron is being showcased, they haven't played in 3 days so there really would be no reason to take Struble out. Sid probably told Dubas to trade for him. Wild guess of course 🤣

Agree to disagree. I really don't need a team to have some "original" name to care about them. Like I'd care less about Nashville if they didn't have their super edgy "Predators" name. The Devils, the Sharks... come on. How about the Space Zombies? That's so cool and creative. I'm so glad the team I support isn't named after some animal or whatever. I'm a Panthers fan! Raaaawr! Sounds so silly.

Most of the team names are meant to honor specific cultural and historical components of the region they represent. They bring color, texture and meaning to the portrait of a team. HCs and FCs sounds like how you would name teams if you lived in an oligarchical collectivist dystopia.

Habs are not simply a HC. They are the Canadiens HC and we don't say the HC. Nobody does and there's good reason for that. Anybody who follows the sport knows its a hockey club. It's reduntant and lame.

Your example of space zombies tells me you're blind to the reasons for the names.

Physically, he's fine. it's mentally that he's not there yet. Last 10+ games he's been playing W to little progress. You think that more will help? I dont think it would. Playing W for these game was a good way to test the knee and get some good ice time to get you rhythm back, but now he need that killer instinct and by putting him C and telling him: you go drive the offense here (i.e. dont rely on Suzuki) it would trigger something.

Dach that can't play C is almost useless to this team. Down the road you have CC, Slaf, Demidov and Laine (maybe) that can play W. him being a 3W would be disappointing. As far as trade goes.... you'll get better value if he plays C poorly then if he plays W poorly.

Dont get me wrong, I want him to succeed in a 2c role, we need his size and skill, but he also need to play the right way.
I agree mentally he's off. He's off because he still thinks his game doesn't need more effort than he's putting up. That's the reasoning behind putting him on an energy line. If we do this however, and he's still thinking his game is to hang back and make plays, it'll be another failure.

That's the logic: Don't give him any choice but to adapt to a killer game. Drive the net all the time, battle the corners all the time and don't hang back thinking you're any better. Basically plumbing 101.

Switch Roy and Newhook. Regardless those lines are terrifying

Barron has little to no value
30th round pick or the rights to a bag of dog shit

It's not dumb to give a few NHL games (around 10 a year) to your top prospects even if it's just 10 minutes. All teams do that. What is dumb is to let your best prospects cook without giving them the chance to try the NHL a few games every years. Beck will play a few games this year too and it wont be dumb either.

A good example of that is William Eklund. Played 9 games his first season and 8 games his 2nd season. He was not ready but SJ gave him a few games to see where he was in his development. At one point if the only thing a young player do is dominate lesser competition he wont learn anything from it and wont know what he must work on.
On the 4th line though? Besides, they’ve seen Roy. Besides Hughes actually saying that the goal is to let prospects play and develop in Laval. He’s taking Roy out of a winning environment and putting him on the 4th line in a losing environment. How’s this beneficial?

I kind of like the Dach line they can replace Yowel with Laine when he is ready, that was my first tought whe they acqired him , but Newhook is not the right fit for Suzy and Cole he has the vision of a Bats, trying Roy there would be a much better idea imo.

If anyone deserves a shot at playing with Suzuki it’s Gally - never thought I’d say that coming into the season but never would’ve guessed he’d have turned back the clock and others had turned to dog shit

Crystal ball prediction? I don't see any difference between his confidence level on the wing or at center. The guy has been in country club mode since the beginning of the season.

Poor Slaf!
There is a zero chance that any player can get better while playing with "Lazy Dach" and "No Urgency Armia".
ZERO!
:shakehead
Yeah but Slaf is the current target of articles, so he's clearly playing as badly as Dach or Newhook.

It's Cowboy appreciation night or some dumb shit like that so any hockey with wagon in the name would actually fit the theme.
