This is exactly the kind of game people in attendance would love to see actually. Some firewagon hockey!

I think Barron is being showcased, they haven't played in 3 days so there really would be no reason to take Struble out. Sid probably told Dubas to trade for him. Wild guess of course 🤣
Barron for Malkin. I'm in.

Agree. I wouldn't mind seeing a Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Gallagher line.
Hmm... could work.

Dach had no confidence at center so he was moved to the 1st line at wing and didn't look any better. And now he's back at center but at the bottom of the line-up to improve his confidence...

And he's going to play with another player without confidence (Slaf) and Armia who's kinda not better.

Also, none of these 3 wants to carry the puck that much. Might make for an hilarious line.

It must be difficult for a coach when so many players are underperforming, but this set of lines for tonight truly seems awful. It looks like St Louis really doesn’t know what to do anymore with this group.

Suzuki needs speed on both wings it forces him to play faster. The problem is the speed has to be able to make plays as well.
I'm really not sure what went on to start the year but neither Caufield nor Slaf were able to make plays and Slaf hasn't been moving his feet at all.

I'm curious to see if Newhook can get a better fore check going than we've seen with this line.
Most are leery about the lack of physicality that line will bring to the table.
That being said they'll end up being shit if they don't win any puck battles.

One thing is for certain he'll never get a better opportunity to earn his pay.

I bet it lasts 2 shifts. I'm not even sure MSL is the one who had that great idea. His comments certainly don't inspire any confidence in it.

They’ll just pass to each other in an infinite loop until they lose the puck.

MSL has no idea what to do to try to get his players going anymore. Dach/Slaf looks more like scapegoats then anything to me (which isn't going to help their confidence), because the team leadership compete level is trash...

But I suspect their line will not really be the 4th line in TOI. That or the lines end up in the blender before the 2nd period start because nothing is working.

One thing thought, Slaf/Dach/Armia means one of them will have to be puck carrier now.

Out of curiosity, was Dach tried with gally so far? Maybe a hardworking relentless veteran like Gally would show one thing or two to Dach and give him more confidence. Gally has always been some sort of inspiration to his linemates in his career

im a fan of newhook i have defended him here and other platforms and will continue to do that.

but i have no clue how the coaching staff came to the conclusion that he should be on the 1st line
assuming thats what the lines will be to start the game.
