Utah Hockey Club down to final 3 names: Hockey Club, Mammoth, and Outlaws (upd: Wasatch already nixed)

Trademarks in this country are ridiculous. Brand confusion, give me a break, why should the food container industry have any say in what a sports team is named. Mammoth is fine as a name. Utah Hockey Club is dumb as hell. Wasatch is... brutally local, which is cool I guess. Super unique and I hope the people go for it just because it's so unique and local.

For me, Utah Wasatch doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. I'd vote Mammoth.

Their logo could be a young Eddie Van Halen.

I haven't heard it spoken yet either but I imagine it's something like Wa-Satch, where the Wa sounds like Patrick Roy's last name.

Could be closer to "Wass-itch" though, for all I know.

Mammoth also a better option than just "Utah HC" but I like the uniqueness of Wasatch.

From what I gather, Mammoth is the favorite but as someone else pointed out, if they stick with the Utah HC, it gives them A LOT of latitude on the logo design, mascot, etc.

If they pick "Hockey Club" they should be removed from the league. It'll be like a competency test. Send them back to AZ.

"Utah Hockey Clubbers" will be acceptable because it's funny. Call them the clubbers and make their logo a caveman with a club that's shaped like a hockey stick. Basically a Flintstones theme.

Wasatch is also terrible btw. Mammoth or Clubbers.

I like the Utah Grizzlies as that was the name of the old IHL teams years ago. Yeti would have been preferred or Outlaws. I guess Mammoth of the 3.
