We should win but history shows we lose more than we win vs Arizona- now Utah
They aren't the same franchise though, Utah is an expansion team, Yotes "traded" their hockey assets to the new team. But I still expect Utah to show up tonight with all those Ontario boys in the lineup.

One unexpected benefit of so many young players in the game is that it will keep the veterans focused on their gameplan and the system while the youth will lift the energy on the ice.

Hopefully that energy is applied properly. Last game showcased some of it.

Any team can win/lose on any given night but this is a game that we should win most of the time, and like any other game, there really isn't any excuse for not showing up.

The history doesn't matter IMO, not even a little bit.

Only a few actually, McBain, Crouse, Hayton (Durzi is injured)

Kerfoot will want to burn us though.

Not exactly the Hound line as one is a veteran NHLer (A.Nylander), but will be interesting to watch.

But they should have some familiarity with each other.
Beggars can't be choosers after all the years of scorched earth draft picks by the former GM.

Leaf fans have to consider Bobby McMann a so called KID despite being 28 years old with limited NHL experience.

Alex Nylander at only 26 really feels like a KID despite having more NHL games (121) to McMann (85). More a reward to Willy for his near league leading goals scored and great start.

Our currently GM seems to be putting more value in drafting and developing so Leaf fans in the future can have a Real "Kids line or Hounds line" again.

Just wait until Easton Cowan arrives !!!.

Cowan now has recorded 91 points (37 goals, 54 assists) during his 54-game point streak with the organization, dating back to November 24 of last season with the Knights. Although the record is deemed unofficial by the OHL and the CHL due to the streak tying back to the 2023-24 season, Cowan holds the longest point streak in the CHL since 2000.

Maple Leafs Star Prospect Easton Cowan Extends Point Streak To 54 Games With Assist In Knights’ Victory Over Spirit

Cowan now sits one game away from tying former Maple Leafs captain Doug Gilmour's OHL record of 55 consecutive games with a point. :wg:

Should be an interesting game given most of the lineup are bubble guys and Marlies.

Thinking ahead, when lot of our injured guys come back I feel we should not split the McMann-JT-Marner line.

We should have top 3 lines as:

McMann-JT-Marner
Knies-Matthews-Nylander
Robertson/A Nylander-Holmberg-Domi

OR even better once we upgrade our C depth:

McMann-JT-Marner
Knies-Matthews-Domi
A Nylander-C acquisition-W Nylander

Matthews, Marner and Willy can all drive their own lines, gives us great depth

Utah has actually been pretty good at limiting high danger chances against and high danger goals against 5v5 as have we.

This is such a classic trap game for us. Pulling for the boys to show they’ve turned the corner on that and we get a nice, structured, surgical win where we grind down a tired team and finish them in the third.
not when you have 6 marlies in the line up, they will be hungry

if it was our full regular line up, id definitely agree.
