Reminds me of the time I went to Majerle’s to watch the draft lottery with awfulwaffle and ck26. I was drunk and ranting about Noah Hanifin on the light rail on the way home. Had a few too many drinks that day at the Rattlers game we went to after watching the lottery not go our way.

We have the cap space, and more importantly, the budget, which we didn't have in Arizona, to pursue pretty much any free agent we want. I don't recall both of those ever being true at the same time in Arizona, but I don't have the best memory in the world.

I’ve watched maybe a dozen Tucson games this season. I don’t think there’s much there with Raty. Not very hopeful. But I’m not a real scout. So who knows.

I think we’re taking a huge swing at something this summer. That’s for sure. BA’s media availability and Friedman’s comments on 32T today lead me to believe we attempted to make a move for Rantanen but were told we were too far from Cup contention for his taste.

hope CHI is happy as well with whatever piece they targeted. but to me it's looking that we got rid of baggage for which we usually should pay sth. or is the value of taking on shea's contract worth less then the two bodies? We've lost the huge contract and gained some open slots (are the Russians coming?) - and for this we got a pick on top.

They've mentioned him in numerous "farm reports"...they don't usually mention those kids that they don't expect to sign. I'm sure we will sign him.

Depending on the term they want, they could sign both Ehlers & Bennett combined for slightly more than Marner and I feel they better fit the team's needs. Unless you move Schmaltz before his contract is over, the team is overloaded at RW especially with But coming in as another RHD shot. Not to mention, it also helps Guenther out at even strength. I don't see Iginla close to ready next few seasons given his injury this season and the propensity for our ownership to overcook prospects like Doan and Guenther.

We've got good wingers in Keller/Schmaltz/Guenther/But/Iginla

You don't trade a 7.8 million cap hit for the next season with the intention of sitting on your hands. I think there are players out there either through trade or free agency that BA and staff are strongly considering.

Sorry to butt in as a Leafs fan but I think Utah is actually a perfect fit for him, and I made a case for that on our board. I really think he'd be a slam-dunk here.
