Filling a D spot in Tucson.

Utah is currently down 3 of their top 6 D after losing Bortuzzo the other night. Durzi and Marino have no timeline yet for a return.

Kolyachonok is filing in tonight and Kevin Connaution was just recalled from Tucson to fill the 7th spot.
Not without passing thru waivers again.

And if he scores a goal, you can call him MerMake. Usually don’t have to worry about that too often, so Mermis is fine.

I think this is the first time in over a decade where I've done the whole, "Who???" about a player from my own organization. You sure this Werwis guy wasn't a Senator?

He is not an NHL player, look to the main difference in the Wild’s GA this year vs last year and then add the previous seasons where he didn’t play. Jake Middleton’s splits with Mermis vs Faber and Spurgeon is as drastic as you can get.

Takes bad angles, doesn’t trust his teammates and generally runs around like a headless chicken in his own zone. Good skater and flashes puck skills now and again, but not an offensive producer at this level.
Mer-men belong in the water. He is playing on top of frozen water. The fact that he made it this far is remarkable, stop being a hater.

He signed a 1-way deal with the Leafs.

In fact, he would get more money in the AHL (no escrow).
Escrow isn’t really a big deal this season. Anything the players pay into escrow is likely to be given back as the the players salaries this season are expected to come in under the 50/50 revenue split.
Sure it would be nice for the player to not have to pay into escrow and get his money immediately but I’m sure he would prefer to play in the NHL
