To send him to Abbotsford, they would need to waive him again. At that point, if only Utah make a claim, they can send him to Tucson.

I think he’s being romanticized a bit here - but he should definitely be claimed and have a pretty decent career as a bottom pairing option. He's built well physically, skates very well and isn’t glaringly bad at anything. I’d be hard pressed to say he does anything that amazing either.

Much more useful than the Boqvists and Brannstroms of the world - but future top four guy seems like wishful thinking.

I suspect he's one of those players who carves out a 3rd pair role for himself on a decent team for 2-3 years before returning to 7th dman status. Lots of guys have that exact career.

Yeah I was actually thinking a good outcome would be like a Valimaki type waiver outcome. Which as far as waiver pickups go, would be on the upper end. It’s just, ultimately, not as exciting as it appears for a while. I guess Valimaki was playing top four minutes for the Yotes though for a couple seasons there.

Ya know it's odd, I looked up his stats the other day just browsing through teams that I thought might be selling at the deadline on defense
and I wondered how Koly was doing in Utah/Arizona since he's been there. Nothing earthshattering but steady....then I see he's on waivers.

A bit of a head-scratcher but OK.

Would love to bring him back but HIGHLY doubt he'll make it past all of the teams ahead of The Panthers in the claim process.

I'd be shocked if the cleared, if he does then there is something going on there that fans are not aware of, IMO.
