He's had such an uneven, up and down career. Full of setbacks and stop/start seeming development. Curious if his contract keeps teams from bothering with him and a re-reclamation project all over again this time. It's not that big, but it's more than just a minimum dollar, fully buriable sort of deal...and with another year left on it.
... And you thought at some point Mete was better than Hronek, that Montreal should not trade Gallagher for RNH and that Juulsen was part of the Habs core.

At the time both Suzuki and Vaalimaki were top prospects, and Habs pool sucked ass at LHD so much Bergevin drafted like 6 in the same draft.
Vaalimaki's knee got destroyed. Shit happens, who knows if his career would have gone another trajectory if that did not happen.

I remember seeing people posting advanced stats last year that made it seem like Valimaki was one of the best defensive defensemen in the league

Normally, when I see somebody making this claim, I think that it’s off base because so often players pass through. But in this case I could see Valimaki being picked up.
