Interested to see how he does
If he can anchor the 2nd d pair and pk it’s not bad at all. Don’t really need to drive the offense from the backend with sergachev and durzi there. The popular opinion with my fellow Utah fans (which I'll agree with since I don't know any better and didn't form an opinion on my own) is that his floor is a top 4 defenseman who plays more of a shutdown role than providing offense. The offensive talent is there and has the potential to be refined for him to produce at the NHL level as well, but if that doesn't happen, he can still play on the 2nd (or even 1st) pair in a shutdown role.

Just be able to make the simple passes and put the puck on net when needed.
May not be official yet…. still has to be recorded with the league. That's quick after having won the Gagarin Cup moments ago

So a Hjalmarsson type of guy?
Looking forward to seeing Shimashev play. Was an interesting later riser at the 2023 draft, rumors many teams had him above the “consensus” rankings.
Shmashville...Please tell me his nickname is Shimmy.
1 assist in 20 playoff games? Even as a 20 year old, you would think he’d get a few phantom assists…
They don’t give them out in the KHL. Needs to be a clean play to be an assist IIRC. Maybe a KHL watcher can confirm.1 assist in 20 playoff games? Even as a 20 year old, you would think he’d get a few phantom assists…
That's very valuable.
