Stupid question: I've always used the acronym CIS but I know USports is now the official term for college/university sports in Canada. Are those terms still interchangeable?

Hasn’t been many official announcements yet about USports players transferring. The optimist in me hopes maybe it’s not going to be that bad…but I’m guessing it’s just too early in the offseason yet.

Having said that, seeing Kale McCallum, arguably the best defenseman in the country, going to a school like Providence…and the Alberta guys rumoured to be going to Nebraska-Omaha….makes me think the big-time NCAA programs might not looking to U Sports.

The portal just closed a week ago, so schools may be looking at what they have/need.

As I've said before, the CIS is not stocked with future NHL prospects.

NCAA schools will look at the "best" players in CIS.

The Big Dog schools are looking at top tier CHL and USHL players.

CIS players who have committed are going to average NCAA programs.

Despite all the rumors, including several from me, only a few CIS players have been named as transfers. Could the issue of lack of certain credits be a factor?
