Got to think that Flores goes the US route being from Chicago. Oster would be a great recruit, but is sure to get a a lot of NCAA offers. Certainly a workhorse the last two years. He's good!Purboo rumoured to Tennessee Tech
UNB might be interested in OHL OA goalie
Only these guys are available
Owen Flores
Jacob Oster
Nick Surzycia
It would be nice for sure but even if they have to start the year Delafontaine and Fisk it’s not the end of the world..I think UNB has interest in an OHL OA goaltender?
If Giannuzzi comes they would have three goalies so I would imagine that would be it. I’m guessing the overage goalie they were interested in was Elliott who’s going to UMass-Lowell.Purboo rumoured to Tennessee Tech

Do you think we will see more pro guys coming back?If Giannuzzi comes they would have three goalies so I would imagine that would be it. I’m guessing the overage goalie they were interested in was Elliott who’s going to UMass-Lowell.
Delafontaine is as good as any CHL goalie you are going to get under the new rules
Your guess is as good as anyones haha. Liam Arnsby should be coming to UNB. Heard one other name way back of a guy who played Jr.A for the Red Wings and a few games this year of low level pro going to UNB but haven’t heard anything on that in a hot minute .Do you think we will see more pro guys coming back?
It will be interesting to see. It obviously depends what role they are put in, but I personally think the top guys coming from CIS will be very good second liners and 3rd liners for the most part. The top end talent at the top NCAA programs are 1 or 2 years away from being good NHLers at 20-24 years old, whereas top end CIS guys usually develop in to mid to low end AHLers when they are 27-28.Watching this Western Michigan/Denver game and the pace of play is miles ahead of U Sports…curious how some of these guys who transfer adjust to that kind of speed.
I’ve been wondering this too. I know people will argue that “UNB has beaten top NCAA teams” but so many factors were at play in all of those games … A few years back I was watching Michigan and got to thinking that if you were to put Owen Power on Dalhousie they could probably beat UNB.Watching this Western Michigan/Denver game and the pace of play is miles ahead of U Sports…curious how some of these guys who transfer adjust to that kind of speed.
UNB is fast for U Sports standards….but I think these teams, especially at this point in the season (not September) would skate circles around them.I’ve been wondering this too. McGurn will be an interesting case , I still think he was criminally underrated at UNB.
Put something on the line and they are getting thumped lol. These games are tuneups for NCAA teams and the U Sports teams are playing with a chip on their shoulder and feel they have something to prove .UNB is fast for U Sports standards….but I think these teams, especially at this point in the season (not September) would skate circles around them.
McGurn may have been underrated, but just due to the fact he was currently behind other guys on the depth chart. That was no fault of his own…that’s just how good the lineup was. To me it’s a big loss mainly because he was in line to be the next “guy” they could lean on after the 3rd year guys moved on.
Ouch… Probably the biggest loss possible for UNB.Kale McCallum to Providence
Haven't heard anything on Peer yet, but a major turnover for sure!Ouch… Probably the biggest loss possible for UNB.
Gonna be a huge turnover … McCallum , McGurn , Elliott , Sproule , Corbeil , Peer , Plandowski , Carson , Richard , Somers , ?Reynolds? , ?MacKay? , all gone or rumoured to be gone … probably more on top of that…. Gonna be a busy summer on the hill …
I’ve heard nothing on Huckins but I’d be shocked if he’s back, former third round pick, he’s definitely gotta have some offers on the table… I’m sure some guys might lean towards other opportunities as well instead of sticking around for a rebuild .
I’m 99% sure he is gone . His name has been floating around all year, that was the first AUS name I’d heard , usually when there’s smoke there is fireHaven't heard anything on Peer yet, but a major turnover for sure!
I would be shocked if he was back….although it would be nice to get some clarity regarding that pro game he played last spring.I’m 99% sure he is gone .
I kind of wonder if that’s what some of the holdup is.I would be shocked if he was back….although it would be nice to get some clarity regarding that pro game he played last spring.
But then again, if De La Gorgendiere is allowed to play NCAA….I kind of wonder if that’s what some of the holdup is.
Confirmed per @MarkDivver McCullum to Providence.Knew McCallum was done (he mentioned it in a CBC piece about him and his sister). Figured he'd be going pro, though.
Never saw Mancini even dress.Re: Peer: Are him and Mancini a package deal?
The pickle juice & mustard thing could lead to some interesting NIL possibilities.
He couldn’t crack UNB’s lineup so I doubt they have comparable offers… Maybe he was playing 3D chess to get his buddy on the best program in Canada lol. I know guys knew about this was comingRe: Peer: Are him and Mancini a package deal?
