Yeah sounds like interesting towns to visit.
You're 6-1/2 hours from Youngstown, OH. But the Phantoms may switch to the OHL before you save up the travel budget.

An even closer option would be next season's USHL Fall Classic, hosted annually at the Pittsburgh Peguins' practice facility (side-by-side rinks @ UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, PA). 16 games to start the League's season for all teams, played over 5 consecutive days in mid-to-late September. The JMCs attended in 2021 and did some area touring while there. Early season junior hockey can be a bit uneven, but it's a good intro to U.S. Tier 1 play for a reasonable price of admission.

Nice, you really travel to a lot of places. I was getting kinda bored at the nhl game I was at last night.

USHL Power Rankings: Dubuque Tops 2024-2025 Rankings
Nov 14, 2024
Ryan Sykes ...

1. Dubuque Fighting Saints / Previous Rank: 2
Record: 11-5-0-0

The Fighting Saints jumped to the front of our rankings this month.

Dubuque has gone 6-4-0-0 over its last 10 games and has been one of the hottest teams in the USHL, despite dropping its last two contests.

Gavin Cornforth (2025) is one of five skaters on Dubuque’s high-powered offense with at least 10 points. The Boston College commit has six goals and six assists through his first 16 games.

Added, Heikki Ruohonen (PHI) is making the jump to the U-Show look seamless, racking up 10 points thus far.

Dubuque gets Des Moines in a home-and-home series this weekend.

2. Lincoln Stars / Previous Rank: 1
Record: 11-5-0-0

You certainly could make a case for Lincoln retaining its spot atop the rankings this month.

The Stars have gone 6-4-0-0 over their last 10 games and continue to pair their offense with solid goaltending.

Jack Pechar is having a phenomenal start to the season, having accumulated 14 points in his first 16 games. Added, the Northeastern commit’s efforts were recognized with a well-deserved invite to participate in the 2024 World Junior A Challenge next month.

Lincoln travels to Chicago for a two-game road series against the Steel this weekend.

3. Waterloo Black Hawks / Previous Rank: 3
Record: 9-4-2-2

The Black Hawks hold firm in their position in our rankings, but it will be interesting to see where they land in the next installment, given their recent performance.

Waterloo has collected points in eight of its last 10 games and is tied with Lincoln atop the Western Conference standings.

The Black Hawks have been an offensive dynamo thus far, leading the league in goals scored (60).

Brendan McMorrow leads all Waterloo skaters with eight goals and has 12 points overall. The Denver commit is establishing himself as a solid re-entry candidate for the 2025 NHL Draft.

The Black Hawks host Tri-City for two next. ...

I did, and went to the site. It's a pretty well constructed site. Honestly I find the NAHL, NA3, and USPHL sites kinda clunky.
Everything looks "pretty well constructed" when the bots are in charge. "sanitized" is another description. I guess colleges & universities can save precious budget now, as there's no need for Schools of Journalism (and other departments) with enrollments plummeting.

Anybody been to the rink in Muskegon this year? I saw they just finished up another round of renovations on the building. I'm in GR now so I'd like to check it out once before...things happen.
