If you cruise you don't have to worry about booking hotels. But since I would have to do everything myself it would be such a pain to book airfare and trains throughout spain

that's why I for the most part just use a tour group

Northern Virginia, locally referred to as NOVA or NoVA, comprises several counties and independent cities in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. The region radiates westward and southward from Washington, D.C., the nation's capital, and has a population of 3,257,133 people as of 2023 U.S. Census Bureau estimates, representing over a third of the state's total population. It is the most populous region in both Virginia and the regional Washington metropolitan area.[2][3][4]

Communities in the region form the Virginia portion of the Washington metropolitan area and the larger Washington–Baltimore metropolitan area. Northern Virginia has a significantly larger job base than either Washington, D.C. or the Maryland portion of its suburbs,[5] and is the highest-income region of Virginia, with several of the highest-income counties in the nation, including three of the ten highest counties for median household income, according to the 2019 American Community Survey.[6]

Admittedly this is my wife’s dream trip. So I’m very good at following along with stuff like this.

ah nice. our trip is a bit of both for us.

Amsterdam - we've both always been interested
Paris - low on both our lists, but a place we don't mind taking him while he's young and if we never go back kind of deal... food alone should make it worth the stop and some pics with him and the tower will be cool. our airbnb is less than 5 blocks from the park but on the other end from the tower.
London - wife wants to meet up with some friends that live there.

both our offices are closed for those two weeks too so we don't have to burn any PTO for it.

never been to Boston but looks like they have a train you can take from airport.... which already sounds better than a car service from LGA to city and back to JFK.

think it will be Boston and deal with the layover. have enough miles to book tickets in first for that flight and then business class tickets from there to Amsterdam aren't too badly priced. wife might even have enough Delta miles to cover that too.
