Peg and I got you fam. Name your price limit and features you want.

Price is always tricky and to be honest I haven't even looked to see what ballpark I'd need to start at. I don't like to spend more than I have to, but recognize that quality means $$$. Say around $1K unless that doesn't get me anywhere. I know you can spend an infinite amount if you want/can.

I currently have one of the older Sony ready to go deals where you get a 1000w receiver, 5 speakers, and a SW. It's from just before they started incorporating the blue ray player in the receiver. ~$300 at the time iirc.

One of the drawbacks to mine is that there's no hdmi in the receiver. It's all red/white, one optical, one fiber optic and newer electronics seem to be moving away from those outputs. I remember my new cable box was a pita to hook up because my old one had a digital out, but the new one didn't so I had to go r/w into the tv and then 3mm headphone jack to r/w in on the receiver. Something like that.

It might be easier to tell you what I'm working with more than what I want.

Sony Smart TV
PS4
Cable Box
Roku
PC on rare occasion

Smaller living room (15' x 25' maybe?)

Mine seems like it has no balls. Not sure if that's age or what. It still sounds decent, but it has to be on 40-55 (60 max)

You can't go wrong with Denon receivers. If you don't want all that, then you can always get a less expensive model and maybe upgrade your speakers.
