I'm very mad but I'm proud of the way they tried out there even with the defense ****ting the bed. Kirk had a career day completion wise. IT was just that the defense didn't give them a chance. And I'll always say this. Gruden never should have onside kicked it. Kick it deep and then hope you can stop them. They had like one sustained drive to that point in the 2nd half. I'd take my chances on that. Kick it deep, let them scrimmage from their own 25, and at least try to make a stop. Instead you give a defense which struggled all afternoon less field to score. That, combined with bonehead defensive penalties, did us in. But we never should have given them a short field in the first place.
That being said the offense did an okay job, got off to a bit of a slow start though and couldn't really get points on the board. One of them was a 55 yarder that we had to try because of a huge holding call, and one of them Hopkins should have made. So I'm not that mad at ST or O. I'm furious at that D. That D is a sieve. AGainst an explosive offense like Dallas, you can't play like that and win.
The good news in all of this is honestly, I think we might lose at most one game the rest of the year. We are still in good position to win out with Carolina, Arizona, Philly, et al on the schedule. Those are other teams fighting for their playoff lives. You best believe they aren't as stacked as Dallas. We can beat those guys. And if you don't want to beat those teams, if you can't beat them, you don't deserve to go to the playoffs anyway. The playoffs start now for this team. We have a lot of good teams we face closing out the schedule, all in the playoff mix. But again, many of them while in the playoff mix are hovering around the .500 mark. We can beat them. Take command of our destiny and beat down the rest of these peons. We can make the playoffs if we win out.
