Peen, is Lance Stroll hyped around the F1 community?

the guy is being compared to Jacques Villeneuve here and I guess that's just because it's so rare to have a Quebecois in F1

It's rare to have Canadian drivers, let alone Quebecois.

All I can say is that he is talented, but his dad is a Billionaire which helps get a seat.

I asked for Peener's opinion, not yours.
He's not a generational talent, if that's what you're asking.

It's going to take years (if he even gets to drive in F1 that long) of proving himself to remove the reputation of his father's money paving the way for him.

Did you watch the Bahrain GP?
I doubt Mercedes is going to keep up this pace of messing up their strategy in every other race, so I'd expect Hamilton to win the title by 100+ pts.

Which means we're in for another boring season.

From what I've seen on Twitter most people think he sucks, including me

He is what is known in the industry as a "pay driver" - these are the guys who are not the most talented but have massive financial backing behind them in the way of sponsors or a rich background, and they get signed by the poorer teams because their sponsor will give them a lot of money to have their name on the car. Stroll drives for Williams, they are paying Felipe Massa a large salary, and they can't really afford to have a really good 2nd driver who they're going to pay a large salary to, so they've gone for Stroll who is a pay driver.

The Jacques Villeneuve comparisons are based entirely on his nationality because it's rare to have Canadians in F1.
