Bought these little outlet things to give an on/off switch to an outlet. Something similar to this:
Now, you would expect the on/off switch to light up so you can find it in the dark. Well, the switch only lights up when selected to the on position, which is completely ass-backwards.
Logically, if whatever I've plugged into the switch is now on, why would I need any light to help me find the switch? It's totally pointless in this configuration.
There's probably some contrived reasoning like "With the switch off, there would be no power for the light", which is just lazy nonsense.
Edit: What I'm talking about is apparently called a pilot light and those switches cost 10-15 dollars more.
