and so are your posts
the difference is that alcohol has scientifically been proven to release endorphins. since you're such a chemistry geek surely you know this. so what's the problem?

endorphins - hormones that make you feel good

why would you NOT want to feel good?

Endorphins consist of a large group of peptides. They are produced by the central nervous system and the pituitary gland. Since endorphins act on the opiate receptors in our brains, they reduce pain and boost pleasure, resulting in a feeling of well-being. Endorphins are released in response to pain or stress, but they’re also released during other activities, like eating, exercise

Drinking alcohol triggers the release of endorphins — chemicals that produce feelings of pleasure — in certain areas of the brain, which may help explain why some people drink more than others, according to a small new study.

Researchers compared brain images of 13 heavy drinkers and 12 other people before and after they'd had an alcoholic drink.

In all the study participants, alcohol caused endorphins to be released in specific areas of the brain – and the higher the level of endorphins, the better drinkers reported feeling.

You want to take too many external sources of pleasure. Trust me it just ends up with you tied up in someone’s basement with a ball gag in your mouth and a car battery ready to fry your sack because you no longer feel the joys of simply living.

Edit: I meant DON’T want to, bit of a Freudian nip slip there.
