"David was born in the USA. Decided to play for Canada. You can’t blame the kid. He looks like the best young Canadian player, in my opinion. I think he’s better than Davies. I wouldn’t mind Dortmund signing him either. But he shouldn’t be compared to Pulisic. One is proven at the top level, the other isn’t. Adams and McKennie, two well-above average young American Bundesliga players aren’t even considered comparable to Pulisic. Pulisic is one of the best young players in the world. He’s not a prospect anymore either. He’s past that point."

Overall I think they have a pretty similar level of team right now. Give me David and Davies over the American stars though.

"Give me two irrelevant players peoiple haven't heard of over Pulisic and Sargent"

"I offered my opinion that I would take David and Davies over Pulisic and your response was 'anyone who would take them over Pulisic is delusional' -- what else is there to say? You're definitely the authority here. "

Pulisic played for years for the National team dazzling fans as well as Borussia Dortmund.

What the hell have David and Davies done in their life?

"Now, I've never been that high on Pulisic, and it doesn't have anything to do with a hype job (though I do think he was overhyped at one point). I remember when Liverpool were linked with him for a bit and people were pretty keen on it but I wasn't. I think he's a very good young player, but I definitely wouldn't consider him among the best in the world (relative). Pulisic being 'proven' at the top level is a bit much as well. He's a good player but it's not like he's someone who has proven he should be a starter for a top European team or anything like that, and I haven't seen much in him that says to me he has another level to go up and become one of those guys. It probably is a bit of bias on my part, but I do see that in Davies/David as they've really impressed me since moving on from their roots -- now again, maybe that happens as a result of low expectations to begin with and now they're exceeding them, but ultimately even if you look at just Davies and the way he was dominating the MLS at such a young age before his move to Bayern...yeah I like them better than Pulisic, but that's just my opinion."

Playing for Danish top-side FC Nordsjælland, Jonathan Amon has already earned two senior USMNT caps and is clearly on Berhalter’s radar already. Always a smile on his face, Amon is a pacey, hard to contain winger who thrives in 1v1 situations when he is running at the defense. To be honest, the 20-year-old winger is one of the prospects we are most excited about in our U20 category as he’s already shown that he can succeed at the pro level in Denmark. Difficult to separate from the ball, Amon is a special talent when it comes to making things happen in the final third. He also has a knack to find the back of the net and is particularly skilled at maneuvering through tight spaces, which has let him to feature as striker on occasion with Nordsjaelland.

Youth Spotlight

Richie Ledezma (19, Phoenix, AZ) - Jong PSV Eindhoven, Eerste Divisie
Ledezma had a man of the match performance, scoring a breakaway finish and cheeky chip, and adding a nice assist to drive a comeback victory, 3-2 against Jong AZ Alkmaar. In his fifth match for the Dutch side, Ledezma finally showed his complete skill set, with each offensive play showing a different ability in his toolkit. His composure and close control allowed him to turn away from a defender and slot cooly for his first, his assist was a perfectly weighted through ball and the game winning goal showed a creativity and confidence that sets him apart from other players on his team. Though Ledezma is still eligible for a senior team call up for Mexico, his experience playing on the U20s, as well as American imagery on his social media posts make it seem that he is yet another young American talent lighting up in European leagues.
