That is exactly why I'm ashamed and embarrassed to be a wrestling fan.

The outright inability to view the business from a non-fan's perspective is so pathetic.

Is it impossible to imagine that it's simply a bad storyline? No, it's clearly people getting offended for no reason.

Jim Cornette's opinion on the Terri Runnels miscarriage storyline, which was obviously worse, but somewhat applies here:

"I always like to say wrestling is bad taste done in good taste, but this was bad taste done in bad taste.

It wasn't necessary, it didn't sell any tickets, it didn't sell any PPV buys, it didn't increase the ratings.

It didn't do anything for anybody, otherwise than just be a reminder to a large segment of the audience that went through something like that, and why the f*** would you want to bring that up on a wrestling show?"

Let me guess, Tommy Dreamer was a big defender of the whole Eugene nonsense, too.

"That person acting mentally deficient? I totally want to hit him with a chair, but some fans are just too sensitive!"

Wait, doesn't the WWE pay legitimate news sites to run stories about WWE storylines? Shit like ESPN reporting on Wrestlemania.

Wouldn't surprise me if the outrage was being over-reported as a way to drive ratings.

Ahh f*** it. No one cares what I think.

It's funny to laugh at, but Lance actually deserves a lot of respect for that.

We sure as hell didn't take concussions seriously back then.

Hell, I remember some NCAA game where players could get their bell rung by huge hits, with that buff carrying over for a few plays. f***ing yikes.

Edit: Of course, now I can't find that game. It exists, I remember reading about it, I guess as an advertisement in the manual in another game.
