If they had designed it properly from the beginning it would have worked on other machines in the first place.

Hardcoding a value is horrible but honestly it's what they deserve.

Judging by the comments and what I had to hardcode in, I don't see how it works on that one machine. It pulls these certain environment variables, but gets a different result.

I started off hoping to just get an executable to work, but I found the source, fixed it, and now I can steal the good parts.

I'm feeling pretty confident that I can get this whole thing to work, as compared to being ready to say f*** this job two weeks ago

I went to school with this girl that went on to work for the National Weather Service. She did a great job and is a great forecaster. She also happens to be...shall we say extraordinarily easy on the eyes. This should have absolutely nothing to do with her job (she's not an on-screen person) but the dirtbag stuff she dealt with any time she had to do anything via interviews, phone calls, etc. was appalling. Scumbags are real.

I felt bad, and still feel bad, for her in a way because someone of it gives me concerns for her personal safety.
