Based in the league’s second-largest city — a 45-minute drive from the CN Tower at rush hour on Friday — the Steelheads have become the team Southern Ontario forgot. For 10 years, they have won often on the ice while struggling in the stands, finishing last in OHL attendance this year.

I'm always been and always will be an IceDogs fan.

That's just a joke, it's a good hour and a half, I know. Takes more then 45 mins to get a couple blocks somedays.

Former team owner and hockey commentator Donald S. Cherry stepped behind the bench to coach the IceDogs for the 2001–02 season, after going through five coaches in three years. The team had its best season to the date, but still failed to reach the playoffs. The IceDogs were one of the highest-selling road teams in the OHL that year, as many spectators attended games to see Don Cherry coach and seek autographs.

Carolina saw Raanta go down midway through the first period after a collision with Bruins' forward David Pastrnak. The bloodied Raanta immediately exited and would not return with an upper-body injury; Pastrnak was assessed a two-minute penalty for goalie interference.

Hurricanes' coach Rod Brind'Amor had no update on Raanta after the win but did say the netminder wasn't in concussion protocol.

As for whether he thought Pastrnak deliberately targeted Raanta, Brind'Amor said, "What do you think? It can't get more obvious."

Morning Joe going off on the R's again! Even used a favorite word of the iconic Grapes....."wackadoodles" :laugh:
opinionated news is not the trend anymore

nobody cares about some liberal talking head ranting, almost as bad as your former MSNBC colleague Keith Olbermann

==============

it's hilarious how our "resident hockey expert" who "watches so much hockey" cannot realize that the Bruins are much more dirtier than the Caps have been

Like he is singling out wilson without understanding that Hathaway has been more dirty than Wilson this year as Wilson has largely tried to avoid big hits due to constant scrutiny from the league.

Tell us again about how much hockey you watch yet you couldn't see that. Maybe you should watch more Caps games.

Meanwhile, later in the second period, Brad Marchand took a swipe at Hurricanes' rookie goalie Pyotr Kochetkov, the third stringer replacing Raanta (Carolina is already without Frederik Andersen, who is rehabbing a lower-body injury). Kochetkov took exception to Marchand's smack and gave the Bruins' agitator one back that led to offsetting slashing calls handed out to each side.
