Old trucker talk, I lived near a major highway during the 70's and would sneak out with the keys to the old man's truck and fire up the CB. The OPP used to set up a airplane and time the cars and trucks on the highway, there were quarter mile markers in the pavement back then. A few times I would see the plane circling around the house and would get on the horn and warn anybody with their "ears on" that "smokey had wings and a watch" just west of exit #---. I used to just laugh when they would hit their horns driving by, laughed even more when I went back in the house and heard my parents openly wondering why they were hearing so many truck horns all the sudden while they were watching TV.

They eventually made the connection...
