Lol that ending. Miami wins!

UVA could not get a shot off.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Isaiah Wong scored 24 points and No. 22 Miami held on in a frantic finish to beat No. 6 Virginia 66-64 on Tuesday night.

Jordan Miller finished with 11 points while Norchad Omier had 10 for the Hurricanes (12-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who snapped a six-game losing streak against the Cavaliers.

“This means a lot to us,” Wong said. “Just being part of a Miami team, we’ve been rated as underdogs this season. I feel with this win, it’s going to bring notoriety to our team.”

Miami led 61-51 on a free throw by Wong with 1:56 to play. Virginia (8-2, 1-1) went on an 8-0 run from there. Kihei Clark’s layup with 26 seconds left made it 61-59, and Clark made three free throws with 5 seconds remaining to get the Cavaliers within 65-64, but Virginia couldn’t finish it off and lost its second straight.

“You saw two great teams battling each other, especially at the defensive end of the floor,” Miami coach Jim Larrañaga said.

Scheyer is approaching Mario / Sherman / Flores image territory.

Relax`. They are still 10-3. No one can possibly replace Coach K and a drop off was to be expected. You are more than welcome to revisit this in March and at that point if they are a middle of the pack ACC team drop as many images as you like. How about some images of Hubert Davis, whose Heels were pre-season #1 and quickly fell out of the polls.

By far the worst coach in Miami - Ft Lauterdale right now, worse than Maurice. Sad!

He improved at FIU after going 1-11 :)laugh:) but he also canned his OC and DC. That doesn't look like the case here so enjoy another 6-6 season. "We're going bowling, it's an improvement."

I got news for you, 6-6 shouldn't be the standard at The U

I respect Miami basketball because they play the right way, despite being a rival. And Larranaga coached for George Mason outside the DC area so he is a good guy. Miami basketball (unlike the very pathetic, and "sleepy" football team) actually gives a damn, and actually beats ranked opponents. Meanwhile you have Miami's football program getting their doors blown out to FSU and Pitt and Clemson. Sad!

The problem is the ACC is filled with rising young teams of which Miami is not one of them. Mario got more than he bargained for moving to the ACC from the weak Pac-12 where there are only 2 contenders (Oregon / Utah before USC hired Lincoln). In Oregon he got an easy road to the conference championship game. In the ACC he has to compete with Duke, UNC, and Pitt, and that's just from the Coastal!

And who knows how much better GT will be with their new coach. It's not going to be easy and you can recruit all the talent you want but a lot of these schools are also recruiting talent and even worse, are RETURNING talent (isn't Maye coming back for another year)

You seem to have forgotten that just a couple years ago fans wanted to run Larranaga out of town because of how bad the team was & how they were playing with a grand total of 7 players many nights. Guess what. He proved everyone wrong & rebuilt the program very quickly to what it is today.

Mario can & WILL do the same (he's already rebuilding it via the portal & recruiting) & you know in your heart & mind that this is true & THAT is what scares you the most.
