it used to freeze in the winter though. i do remember that. that was annoying.

Don't do it. I've had very long hair in my younger past and had it grow out during the shutdowns. Other then the thick white hair deflecting the sun and having not to pay close attention to the hair growing from my ears there wasn't any other advantages outweighing the pain in the neck factor.
Besides, my nieces all joked on a zoom call that with my grey hair they couldn't tell the difference between me on screen and my mother in law, their grandmother.
